Well ive pulled lt1s and ls1s throught the top and its a big pain, my dad has a 3.8 firebird 96, and he just did the intake gaskets on it and now the main seal look like it went. Im wanting to drop it out of the bottom for the first time, ive read a lot on here so far, just would like to know everything that needs disconnected, I know the fuel lines, front brake lines, tranny lines out of rad, steering shaft, ive heard you can just take the computer and lay it on the motor, obviously the DS, and exhaust come off, just seeing if im missing any thing. Thank you for your help, Paul.

This book gives step-by-step instructions on how to drop an LS1 out of the bottom...I'd imagine the 3.8 wouldn't be that different:

This is also another good book:

disconnect your harness from the car... leave it attached to the motor. take off all your k member bolts should be like 6. disconnect break lines. attach engine hoist to front of car and lift. watch for wires snagging and such as the body lifts and your motor stays on the k member.

its a lil more complicated than that but not much more.
