Not bad aside from the ugly accessories. The current generation US Ranger has been out since 1993

I truly believe had GM had all of it's Opel cars and what not over here they may not be in as "dire" as a situation as they are now.

Saturn should have been "Opel" all along, hell I don't know why they didn't just call it Opel instead of making up a new name. A European brand would probably sell good over here as much as people seem to fantasize over anything from outside the US.

Isn't that thing made in Asia somewhere? Plus it's hideous

i'd say it looks like a nissan

I don't like it. It looks like several different trucks slapped together with some leftover car pieces thrown in. It has no uniform look to it. Big thumbs down on this.

FWIW, I really like the styling of the current Ranger AND I think the new F-150 is a great looking truck.

That front end almost looks Japanese.

Thailand.

I wouldn't buy one strictly because of that. Trucks are supposed to be made in America. I had an old 92 Explorer that was beat to hell but it just kept going. I tried to kill it and couldn't. I can think of 3 other people I know personally who have had Rangers with the same experience.

They should give it an Ecoboost 4 with a 6 speed manual available in any cab/bed configuration. Then they'd have something.

Drum beating doesn't work for me on this one. Ford is competing globally now. This truck is replacing the Asian Ranger that is/has been sold for a while now (it has been upgraded WAY more than the US Ranger).

Surely you are aware that GM has been building Silverados/Escalades/other trucks in Canada and Mexico for a LONG time now, right?

That's why I bought a Jeep. I stuck with the 4.7L because it, along with the transmission, is made in Michigan. Everything is assembled in Detroit. Doesn't get much more American than that.

To defend GM, I'd rather have something built in Mexico than Asia. If they can get a job there, they're not hopping the border and getting our tax money when they have 5 kids here. Ford also builds Foci in Mexico, why not this as well?
