Try and get some pics of the Red Jewel Metallic. I like this color but not a fan of it on the Camaro, these kinds of red IMO look much better on the Vette. I would lke to see more pics of this color though on the Camaro.

I'll see what I can do, you may have to settle for 1Fastdog:lol:

Will do. I generally like the maroon colors, but having seen this one now, I don't think I'm going to like it on the Camaro. I like the brownish, more tobacco colored maroons, like the Monterrey Red from the C6 a few years ago. Red Jewel has kind of a purple quality to it. Would be better to see it out in the sun, but will endeavor to get some good pictures of it.
AdioSS 02-18-2009, 12:42 PM I'm planning on going Saturday afternoon after the HOSS (Home Of the Super Sport) club meeting.
Any Chevrolet car enthusiasts are welcome to attend that meeting. We started off primarily as an Impala SS club, but have recently opened up admission to all Super Sports and any Chevrolet owners. We are hoping that maybe some Camaro SS buyers would like to get involved with out group.

Hmmmm....where are you staying? I'm flying into DFW pretty late...arriving at 2110. Can't change the flight times without incurring a rather steep cost, so I'm stuck with that.

This was a suprise. I've seen what I thought was this color in daylight, and there was a purple tinge to it. But under the lights, it was a very burgundy/maroon, a dead ringer for Monterey Red from the C6. 1FastDog said the lights could throw off the shades of the colors a bit, but this picture does a good job of showing what it looked like inside. I don't know what the sun would do to it though.
Here are a few more showing the details of the blacked out grille and tail light panels on the LS7 car. I really like this treatment and may try to get it on our car if I can. Love the LS7 wheels too

HuJass 02-22-2009, 07:34 PM The RJT looks great, especially with the tan interior.
Very classy.

That's the color of the soon-to-be-mine Camaro as well. Keep up the good work.

Nice pics. Thanks for the Red Jewel. Actually Red Jewel is the exact same color as the old Magnetic Red on the C6. Monterey Red was a bit darker and then Crystal Red Metallic is lighter than Monterey but a bit darker than Red Jewel/Mag Red, in between. I liked Mag Red a lot on the C6, but I am not a big fan of it on the Camaro.

Schismblade 02-23-2009, 12:22 AM Saw the camaro and sat in it.
To be honest, I wasn't too impressed with the interior of the base V6 model (then again I didn't care much for the concept interior, either).
I would have liked to have gotten the opportunity to sit in the RS models, but they were roped off.

So sorry to catch this post too late to respond in a timely manner...:(
Hopefully we can meet up another time in the future.

Pretty sure the "red" on the LS7 Camaro is actually Inferno Orange Metallic.
AdioSS 02-23-2009, 03:32 AM Pretty sure the "red" on the LS7 Camaro is actually Inferno Orange Metallic.
no, it is definitely red. It looks like the Victory Red on my Dad's Vette and whatever red is on his Suburban.
There is a good article on the LS7 Camaro in the latest GMHTP mag saying that before the LS7 went in, it was converted to wet-sump with the Camaro oilpan and a camshaft with a tighter Lobe Separation Angle was installed. Power output was increased to 556hp.

no its definately a red and not orange.
CLEAN 02-23-2009, 09:13 AM Is the red on the LS7 concept the same as the production red?
Yes, Victory Red, same as the Corvette red.
CLEAN 02-23-2009, 09:21 AM Nice pics. Thanks for the Red Jewel. Actually Red Jewel is the exact same color as the old Magnetic Red on the C6. Having owned a Mag Red C5, I can say that it's not the same color as Red Jewel. Mag Red comes pretty close to the Crystal Red on the C6. The Monterrey Red was closer to this red jewel, but in the sun, the Monterrey has a kind of brownish tobacco look to it, and red jewel (at least on an Impala) has a purple tint to it.

agou812 02-23-2009, 09:25 AM Red Jewel Metallic is the previous Monterey Red on C6 Corvettes, not Magnetic Red!
CLEAN 02-23-2009, 09:26 AM for some reason i love this pic.....
Even having taken it, it doesn't do the stance of the car justice. That car just sits GREAT in person, and not bad in picutures, enough so that I deemed it worthy of its own picture:lol:

how wide were the tires on the rear of the ls7 camaro?

It is actually Mag Red 2. The last couple of years of the C5 and the first year of the C6 had Mag Red 2.
CLEAN 02-23-2009, 11:54 AM It is actually Mag Red 2. The last couple of years of the C5 and the first year of the C6 had Mag Red 2.
Yep, I had a mag red 2 2000 C5, it's not the same color.
AdioSS 02-23-2009, 02:59 PM how wide were the tires on the rear of the ls7 camaro?
305/65R20 according to the GMHTP article
2010_5thgen 02-23-2009, 03:15 PM i believe the 305 and the 20 part, but as far as the 65. thats kinda much for how low the profile is on the tire. it looks more like a 45 than a 65. but maybe your right.
AdioSS 02-23-2009, 03:33 PM it was probably a typo
305/35R20 would give a 28.4" tire height
SSPORT10 02-23-2009, 04:01 PM i believe the 305 and the 20 part, but as far as the 65. thats kinda much for how low the profile is on the tire. it looks more like a 45 than a 65. but maybe your right.
Definitely not 65! The profile series is 40 on the SS tires. They are at most 40, might even be 35.
