reamo04 02-14-2009, 02:22 PM due to some generosity from a few locals that did not want to see my abondon my project cause of a few small mishaps, I was donated a stock y-pipe to get my car moved. Got the car moved, and now the parents are out of my hair about it :)
Also decided what I am going to do for headers and got everything ordered. Also, decided to ditch my alternator only setup and go back with power steering. It'll add weight, but...its nice to be able to turn corners!
4SFEDZ 02-17-2009, 09:50 AM what happened to your car?
RealQuick 02-17-2009, 11:09 AM Good to hear. I got your pm, I have pics on my site under the header page and TT page. If that isn't enough I'll try and dig some pics up.

Thanks man, do you think 2.5 would be enough for 750ish at the wheels with room to grow, or should I go with the 3" ?
and with the passenger side like that, any idea about plug access and burning wires? lol
RealQuick 02-17-2009, 02:06 PM 2.5" should be fine, but I'd do 3" if it were me. Plug access on that side is fine for me (top and bottom), but its tight due to the exhaust manifold aiming forward (toward the back of the accessory bracket). Not sure about heat problems... I haven't been able to drive mine yet due to snow.

yeah, im getting started on hotside friday when i head up to where the car is again, going to try to get the logs done and maybe a merge to the turbo. We'll see how far I get though.
Downpipe will be the least of my worries at this point as eric brazaan made 750 rwhp with a single 3" so I could always do that too haha
boosted-lt1 02-17-2009, 05:26 PM reamo, Jon,
Are you guys spliting the DP into dual 2.5". Just curious. I hope its not a single 2.5 ;)
-Scott.
c0rey 02-17-2009, 08:31 PM Let me know if you need any parts. I have all the lt1 accessories and the 224/236 cam and all lt1 accessories.

yup, splitting a 5" into either dual 2.5 or dual 3" at this point
c0rey, do you have an A/C delete pulley?
reamo04 02-18-2009, 03:37 PM well, have everything to go from headers to turbo (stuff for headers will be up at the parents house tomorrow, and have a t6 flange that will be here hopefully friday before i head north)
RealQuick 02-18-2009, 03:42 PM Scott, I am not qworking on this project... just throwing out some suggestions.
reamo04 02-18-2009, 03:44 PM haha, im so glad i have all my piping from the first build....i just have to grind down the welds, cut what i need, scrape off all the paint....hrm.....at $5/bend i might just go buy new piping but i hate to have piping just lay around lol
boosted-lt1 02-18-2009, 07:01 PM Ream,
Still run the largest DP you can fit. Dual 3" is about 30% less area that a single 5".
Dual 2.5" is real close to a 3.5" single in terms of area.

yeah, i know, its just going to depend on how my log ends up running, etc. I may end up building my own alternator bracket to make an alternator only mid/high mount alternator setup.
crazycat 02-18-2009, 10:12 PM I went with a dual 3" on my t6 turbo set up. stock kmember, seems to work good.
