Front LS1 caliper dragging...Wnat to repair, not replace

I have a front LS1 brake caliper that drags a good bit more than the other. I think this stemmed from me bead-blasting it in the bores before I realized I was doing something bad to prepare it for finish. The caliper is powder coated so I want to save it if possible and not replace it.

I have had it apart several times looking for piston bind but I cant find any. The two pistons easily slide in and out of the bores with no binding at all and there is no bead present. The two seals appear fine too. What else could cause this?

Maybe I should lightly hone the two bores and replace the hose.

Any thoughts?

Are the guide pins well lubricated?

Sounds like you have rebuilt the caliper well, You might check the run out to see if the rotor is a little warped, also it's possible that hub's bearings are worn.

what makes you think its dragging? is it pulling to one side or excessive heat ? I'm thinking because you cant find anything wrong with that caliper maybe the other side is not functioning.
just a thought...

Rotor is brans new and NOT warped.

Jacking it up, it is much harder to turn the left wheel by hand compared to the right wheel.

oh, mabe a wheel bearing as nj-le has said? if a wheel bearing is bad it will cause the rotor to lay against the caliper.

I will check that.

When you have the front end up and are spinning the tires, try cracking the banjo bolt on the caliper that seems to be dragging. Doing so will eliminate the hose as a suspect. If it spins more freely the hose needs to be replaced, if not, the problem is elsewhere. I bet it's the hose, if not, maybe the piston seals. I've read that they act as a spring and pull the piston back slightly once brake pressure is released.
