In car and driver they mentioned that all of the cars that have the 2.0turbo: Solstice, sky, HHR and cobalt will be able to get a dealer installed power boost with warranty, that includes a different tune and a few other goodies.

Price is around 700 plus install.

Power goes up to 290hp and 340 TQ.

Sounds good to me.

You can buy the kit for $550 if you use the internet. Install is another $100 to $250 depending on the dealer. Trick is finding a dealer that even knows about the upgrade and then has the competence to properly install it and re-flash the PCM.

It's actually just referred to as the GMPP upgrade for the LNF motors.

Amazing performance out of a 2.0. Personally never had a thing for 4 bangers but when I stop and think that the LNF has more power than the LT1 powered 4th gens from only 12 years ago it says a lot. My wife loved her GXP before the upgrade. She will never part with it now.

I thought they considered the cat-back and CAI as Stage I and then the tune as Stage II, but I could be wrong.

Seems as though I did not search enough hehe.

Anyone know if the cruze will be getting this engine as well?
How is torque management on the cobalt compared to let's say the mazdaspeed 3?

Thats the problem I had with my Ion Redline when I installled the stage kit. The dealers looked at me like I was crazy when I asked them about installing it.

"Stage II" has been incorrectly attached to this upgrade. I was even using it when I first heard it. Ran it by the dealer and he looked at me funny.

The cat-back and CAI are also GMPP upgrades but since they can be sold individually or as a pair i do not know that they are referred to as "stage I"? The map sensor/ tune upgrade is not called "Stage II", but it is damn impressive.

Yup, I've called every Pontiac and Saturn dealer within about 40 miles of me and they all say the same thing...."what?".

Might have to bite the bullet and be the guinea pig for one of them. Thank goodness the warranty remains intact with this mod!! If I were them I would stock the kits and offer to install it on every GXP or Redline sold for an extra fee. They could make some good money from it.
