Will there be a B4C 2010 Camaro?

Anyone know if the 5th gen is getting a police package?

I can just picture how mean the car would look with the Transformers Mustang paint job and blacked out or gun metal wheels.

As an owner of a 2002 B4C, I'd hope so.

But Transformers aside, B4Cs look like any other Camaro.

My B4C Camaro looks like a base, polar white, Camaro V6 hardtop.... save the tinted windows, the CHP speaker holes, and the Corvette 5 spokes with Nitto 05 tires I have on it. :devil:

Maybe they can put white doors and hood on black cars for the package...

ps. anyone seeing the blue 2010 Stang pacing the Nascar races right now? Nascar likes to spread the love around I guess lol

The Camaro would look great as a black and white unit... but maybe I'm just partial.

Until you paint the black doors white and throw a LED light bar on the roof. SS comes with 20"s just like the Saleen in Transformers :devil:

I think the G8 would be a better cop car. When the base model upgrades to the DI V6 and 6 speed auto it will be faster than probably 85% of the vehicles on the road today.

I own a 2002 B4C - I talked to a "reliable" source - look for a new B4C in about a year. Though this conversation took place in September 08 - who knows what might get "budget cut" at GM.

I REALLY HOPE the Camaro B4C will save us from these...

Oh no not in NYC of all places! I've seen some cities out here use the Prius or Ranger as their parking enforcment vehicles.

But an Altima Hybrid...

I don't know, if I saw a police camaro, I probobly wouldn't make a run.

I like the police prius, even old lady's in thier buicks would run from those.

Prius is driving by the ticket fairy in NYC. It makes sense because the car does nothing but stop and go at lower speeds.

Chargers are mostly for highway patrol while the hybrids are for parking enforcers. They have a lot of Impalas too.

their cop cars really stand out. Heck they look like pace cars!

Interesting look to the Vicotria HP cars. They look almost taxi like.
It's interesting how and why they placed their badge logo on the upper rear door over the wheel well opening with part of it cut off. – A little stars and bars at the center!

Agency's here can't be as fancy in their paint schemes for marked patrol cars.

I have it on good authority that there was going to be a B4C until Chevy found out that Scott would be the test driver. They dropped the project like a rock!!!

now that's just sad. thank goodness our local government is NOT allowed to buy foreign cars. i think i would have a lapse in judgment and accidentally ram into one of those if i saw it on the road.

The only thing that really needs done, I believe, is to 'repackage' the new Camaro for police Service........

It already has all the HD cooling components and killer brakes...........

Well, 304 HP is more then enough for the needs of the police! Plus, that is the cheapest Camaro to mass order for police departments.

well the v6 are almost as powerful as the 4th gen v8, about 10k cheaper.i dont think the options on the ss are practical for the police. most ofthe time they order stripped down cars. i dont know. theres alot of charger cop cars around me, and all of them are se models.

not to mention after they get the cars into their shops ,they re tune the computer and get some serious power out of the motors. v6 or v8

Don't forget that the LS1 was underrated in the 4th-gen F-body. 304 horsepower and 274 pound-feet of torque isn't what I would call "almost as powerful as" 340 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. If you want to compare the breadth of the powerband, the LS1 compares even more favorably.

Don't get me wrong -- the new V6 is one of the best V6s in the world. Just don't fool yourself by thinking that it's going to offer anything like LS1 performance.

Back to the point, I thought the thread was about whether there would be a B4C (a separate model), not whether cops would order what we currently call an SS. B4C would most likely be a separate, V8-equipped, no-frills model specifically created for police. That's what it was for the 4th gen.

I'm sure there are several other people here who would happily buy such a car. :)

Scott is the reason I got into B4C cars! I had the pleasure (thrill) of getting a ride with him at the 2001 Camaro SS press preview at the Silverdome in Pontiac. I had a 99 SS at the time and an SLP friend got me an invite.

At the Silverdome, Scott gave me a ride in his B4C demo that was a real thrill. We did a 180 degree U turn at 50 MPH. I may have stained the seat! Scott is quite the driver.

I had been watching the B4C scene, but that ride convinced me to get one. I bought a Florida Highway Patrol used unit in 2005 and sold it last year. Great car!

I now have a red, 12,000 mile 2002, six speed, factory chrome wheels and Hurst shifter B4C car that may be a 1 of 1. There were 18 six speed red B4C cars built that year - I have been able to locate 12 of the 18, currently none equipped like mine. Hope to find the other six. See pics in my signature below.

It is the police package, which for any given car generally has all of the performance options (including some heavy duty options like transmission coolers and stuff that might not even be available on other packages) and none of the amenities, a.k.a. a "stripper" package. Lots of guys want exactly that. :)

I will be able to answer this question after the msp testing in september (18-24)
I'll also find out more info about the g8 to chevy thing......

Just give me the 1SC option again like I had with my 2002. No power windows, locks, seats, no defroster, no cruise. Just the car stripped of everything they will let me.
