Just put new head gaskets on my car and water pump. When taking off the water pump alot of "gunk" came out, brown sludge and some other crap. Needless to say I need to get my cooling system flushed. Just curious how much you guys have paid to have it professionally flushed?

if you can do a head gasket, you should have no problem sticking a hose in your radiator and flushing the system yourself

That's essentially what did about 2 days prior to my headgasket blowing. And the gunk was not from the blown head gasket, the coolant and oil didn't mix very much at all. I used some type of solvent as well. I'd rather have this professionally done so all that crap that doesn't come out when you do it yourself is actually removed.

Red96lt1, that's better than I thought, especially since our LT1's have coolant that likes to stay in the block. Where was it that you had yours done?

No, that'd be silly. Why would I pay $60 for something I can do myself.

Cause they can do it better than you. It isnt as simple as running fluids through it. They actually take radiator plastic sides off and clean internal cores.
