JasonD 02-11-2009, 08:15 AM This just in, the 2010 Camaro in Cyber Gray Metallic (the color I ordered mine in, and the second most popular color according to our poll conducted for Chevrolet (http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?t=661773), has been delayed slightly.
The issue is the final builds of the Impala of the Dark Tarnished Silver color (which is to be replaced by Cyber Gray Metallic). Impala has to complete the build of their remaining Dark Tarnished Silver orders and the Impala Oshawa plant has to be shut down before they can switch over to Cyber Gray Metallic. From what I am told, the Impala build schedule for Cyber Gray Metallic starts in late April which is assumed that is when the 2010 Camaros in Cyber Gray will also start.
Am I bummed? A little bit. Not a ton. I would rather wait and get the color that I want and to me, it will be worth the wait. I am sure some people will sigh and say something to the effect of "another delay". Can't blame them but AFAIK, it is only one color.
2010_5thgen 02-11-2009, 08:22 AM kinda like the white i guess. but the white is gonna be a lot later than the cgm. too bad.
CLEAN 02-11-2009, 09:37 AM Welcome to my world (waiting for white)
2010_5thgen 02-11-2009, 10:09 AM i cant deal with waiting for white. i chose black. hopefully ill get mine pretty quick and all of you who ordered cgm will have to watch me drive around! hahaha!
Jack B 02-11-2009, 10:32 AM Ok, that Dark Tarnished Silver is a pretty nice color and wouldn't mind if my SS/RS took a bath in that... (nothing like starting a fresh rumour :-)
Thanks for the confirmation guys.

AdioSS 02-11-2009, 01:30 PM that sucks, they tease us with it on the Pace Car and then this...
what am I whining about? I'm not getting one unless something happens to one of my other vehicles around then... And I've pretty much decided that I'm not buying a new car unless it uses direct injection. And I would not buy a Camaro without a V8 (unless maybe it had a forced induction V6.)

 you wouldnt buy a new car unless it was D.I.( v6 camaro) and you wouldnt buy anything unless it was a v8( ss camaro) or a v6( v6 camaro)??????i think your a little confused, because i sure as hell am.
Bob Cosby 02-11-2009, 02:04 PM You're confused - he's not. Read it again.

Why is the white delayed?
MetalDragon 02-11-2009, 02:22 PM Something along the same lines....Malibu ( I think ) is going to the same color a little later and they want / have to convert them at the same time. But that's been planned for some time.

Oh ok, thanks.
2010_5thgen 02-11-2009, 02:25 PM Why is the white delayed?white isnt being run until july. they are waiting to change the color until after the Impala does its last run of the old white. then they are changing over to the new white. or so ive heard.

he said he wants direct injection. thats why theres the v6 model. then he said he wants a v8. that would be the ss model. then he said he wants a forced induction v6. throw a blower on a d.i. v6 camaro and call it a day. or buy the ss. who makes a d.i. v8 sports car in the same range as the camaro?

He wasn't necessarily talking about the Camaro...just new cars in general and I believe he meant from the factory. Sure he could throw a blower on the V6, but then he would have to spend thousands more and void his warranty. The Gen V V8 engines are supposed to have Direct Injection, but I believe they are currently on hold due to lack of funding
King Moose SS 02-11-2009, 07:35 PM GAH, another delay. I wonder...... maybe GM knew that the earliest (theorically) would be March because they don't seem to mind adding delays here and there.

Exactly :D Plus I have issues even thinking about putting any forced induction on an engine with almost 12:1 compression ratio, at least on one that will run on pump gas :D

Or maybe they didn't anticipate the economy collapsing and car sales grinding to a halt, so now their volumes are down and they have to wait to switch paint over because they aren't making as many cars now. Believe it or not, these things happen...its not some big conspiracy or the suits at GM trying to screw over the consumer
1fastdog 02-12-2009, 12:48 AM Delays of any kind are not something either a customer or GM wants.
GM doesn't get paid until a vehicle ships to a dealer and thus can be invoiced.
No one is happy or gains anything when delays happen.
Shipping a vehicle that exceeds expectations is still very much the key ingredient.

I didn't mean it like that. I ment like... lets say your wife tells you to clean the yard, and you say your gonna do it the following week. But you know that your not gonna do it next week, its just the earliest you would think about doing it.
Noth'nLikeaSmBlock 02-12-2009, 10:45 PM How about we state the obvious... Why is it possible that a few remaining run-off impalas which will be sold with huge incentives hold up one of the most popular colors for the new camaro?
That's just a pathetic management decision - obviously I'm not blaming this on GM's upper management but someone really needs to be knocked upside the head!
