Toyota Venza?
Toyota Venza?
My S/O and I saw this in a commercial and both had the same reaction- Where does this fit into the lineup?
Does this appeal to the buyer who doesnt want a:
Rav4,
Matrix
Highlander
4 Runner
Sequoia
Land Cruser?
Granted some of the later ones are trucks, but how many "SUV" ish soft roading vehicles does one company have to offer? Does this help their corporate average fuel economy needs? (Is it based on a camry?)
I just remember when just about every manufacturer offered 1 suv,
and it was a real SUV!

I read that after this body's life is up it is dead. The FJ and 4 Runner are the only 2 vehicles I'd consider from Toyota.
I bet even the 4 runner is on borrowed time, it seems they are committed to these girly cars and ugly fullsize trucks. And the big 3 get accused of offering too many SUV's?
Atleast theirs are distinctive differences! I couldnt imagine being a toyota sales person and trying to explain the suttle differences between these models to a ill informed customer
You almost need a personality test to determine what is best for you
GM offers quite a few SUV "things" as well. Just off the top of my head I can think of the Trailblazer, Equinox, Envoy, Tahoe, Suburban, HHR, Traverse, Vibe, Torrent, Vue, Yukon, Y Denali, Acadia, Enclave, Escalade, H2, H3, and SRX.
I really have no idea where the Venza fits in. It's just another blobular crossover.

Chevrolet: Trailblazer, Equinox, Tahoe, Suburban, HHR, Traverse
Pontiac: Vibe, Torrent
Saturn: Vue, Outlook
GMC: Yukon, Denali, Envoy, Acadia
Buick: Enclave
Caddilac: Escalade, SRX
Hummer: H2, H3
So Chevy has 6 and Toyota has 7.
Toyota: Rav4, Matrix, Highlander, 4 Runner, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, Venza.
But all those models fall over 7 brands. Lets classify that:

Correction, Chevy has 5*, Toyota has 7
Chevrolet: Tahoe, Suburban, Traverse, Equinox, HHR
Toyota: RAV4, FJ Cruiser , Highlander, Venza, 4 Runner, Sequoia, Land Cruiser
*HHR doesn't have AWD so I don't really consider that in the same class as an Escape or RAV4. Also the Vibe is a car so is the matrix, toyota counts the martix as a corrola wagon. Torrent, Trailblazer, and Envoy are no longer produced. Denali is just a trim level on the Yukon, not a different truck.

I think if you were to overall compare "box things" GM might have more across its brands than Toyota has across its brands. Not that it's a bad thing...
The Venza is Toyota's version of Ford's edge.
Best way to describe it is it's today's station wagon, though no manufacturer wants to call these things that.
Chrysler's entry into this market is the Dodge Journey.
It's not an SUV, it's not quite a crossover (though that label is so broad, even a Grand Cherokee with it's unibody construction could fall into that catagory today).
They're pretty neat thingys, but they're not for me.
