Need flex-pipe for V-Bands?

I'm going to be installing 2 V-band clamps at the end of my Slp Mid Headers and I was wondering, do I need to install some sort of flex pipe on the Y-Pipe? If so, where?

The reason why I am putting v band clamps on is because one bolt hole on the 2-bolt ball and flange is stripped (driver side) and one on the passenger side siezed as I tried to loosen it up.

Because of the stripped 2-bolt flange, I am getting a real bad leak, causing me to get headaches and bad o2 sensor readings (I am assuming from what I have read about header leaks and ses light I am getting after install...)

I have V-bands on my FLP headers they seem to be fine w/o any flex couplers. I asked this question my self and was pretty much told no, get some poly motor mounts and you'll be good. Besides, the inside of the flex don't look like they flow that well.

Well that's good to hear because I have poly mounts already. Does anybody else out there run v-bands with poly mounts and no flex pipe?
