Order NOW - $500 over INVOICE !!! or GMS/GSU

Did that get your attention? This is my way of giving back to the forum members here.

I am fully serious. As many of you know, I was the first to order at the 2nd largest dealer in the country. At MSRP. I have found a local dealer with plenty of allocation left who I today switched my order over to since he was accepting GMS/GSU where my original dealer was not. Actually it was a new order- I have to cancel at the previous dealer...

I got the new order pricing in writing and so did a friend I brought along who also placed a GMS deal this morning. There's a total of only four Camaros sold at this dealership so far including ours. The fifth spot is reserved for Mac1 here. His original allocation was 31. That leaves 26 in my book.

So here it is:

You need to speak directly to Steve Dietzen, new car manager.

his email is the easiest way to get a hold of him and is as follows:

steved@joebasilchevrolet.com

I'm sorry it'll drive some of you crazy since they're closed now and you probably won't hear from Steve until Monday. At least this way it gives you time to really think it through.

I am posting this identical thread on all three boards to be fair.

Too bad shipping would cost me what I would save....well, maybe not. I haven't checked into it that much. NY to TX is a little bit of a trip.

Do they have any idea what supplier discount will be yet?

Not until Monday at best when the order is actually entered into WORKBENCH but even then I haven't seen anyone know what supplier pricing is. We know what employee is and supplier, I read, is 4% over employee... Doing the rough math says about $1500 off on a 2SS. Which is the equivalent to roughly $500 over invoice as far as I can tell.

He'll probably give you whichever works out better for you. As far as shipping, why not just take a one-way flight to Buffalo for $150.00 and drive it back? I know the ride back would suck in your brand new Camaro...

GMS is employee.
GSU is supplier.

In either case, you do not need to be special to get $500 over invoice, which should be comparable to supplier.

Thanks...the more I think about it, the more I realize I can wait until the second round this year when things calm down and I get get better than just MSRP. I just won't get as much warm weather to drive it in :|

That is a sweet deal but Buffalo is too far for me. I do however plan on negotiating when I pick up my order in Tampa. It's not going to hurt to try to get something better.

Hey Guys,
I heard some where that if you buy a car at a far away dealer you can have GM drop ship that vehicle to a dealership where you live.

Thanks trm002. Email sent! I get employee through my retired brother, and get supplier thru my wife. Its only a 4 hour drive to Buffalo via Canada for me. Since I'm getting a 2SS/RS with every option I doubt that I'll see my car until the end of the run no matter where I buy it from and hate the thought of paying MSRP when we know well that they will be giving discounts by spring. The discount price savings would certainly go a long way towards paying for long tube headers, air intake and exhaust. I might even spring for a cam and a tune at that point. Thanks again for the heads up!

Hello Everyone,

We are in Mid-Michigan and still have some allocation available. We are honoring Supplier and GM Employee pricing on Camaro orders. Let me know if anyone has any questions.

Thanks,

FYI :

Just so someone isn't surprised, quotes are being given out that "don't match" the circulated pricing sheet(s) we've seen. The difference apparently is an advertising fee (usually 1.5-2%) which GM hits the dealers with and the dealers pass on to us. Apparently from what I've been told, that amount is rebated back to the dealer in the case of GMS/GSU. In any case, it will be shown on the dealer invoice so all is on the up and up. This fee has been noted by the mods on the "other" website at the bottom of the "Camaro Price Complete List..." 1st post stickey. I missed it.

Don't shoot the messenger.
