Trans cooler

I will be installing a Vig 2800 stall in spring and need advice on a few things.First do i need one and what brand do you guys recommend?Guys that have Vigilante stalls would be most helpful.Thanks.

I had a Vig 2800, nice converter. I then went with a Yank SS3600, again, nice converter. Pick up a B&M Supercooler and tie that into your trans lines. Run the factory cooler first and then through the B&M and back to the trans. I do run a 160 thermostat, and would recommend the same if you don't already.

I have a Hayden cooler on mine. I got it at Advance Auto for about $60 I think. Most parts stores should have them. I don't remember the part number of the one I have. I have had one on two different cars and both times have gotten the one that is rated "Heavy Duty" or "Extra Heavy Duty". You would be surprised how hot the tranny fluid gets even on a stock car.

I found one in Summit,catalog.It,s a BM#70268,price is 49.95.Can anyone verify this,has tried it,etc.

I just ordered one yesterday.I got one of Summit,s own brand w/ Gvw of 18,500 and one of the best things about it was that it was made for tight engine compartments,yet still cools like the bigger sized.

I would also recommend the Hayden coolers. They are only 3/4" thick and fit well in the confined area front of a 4th gen F-Body A/C Condenser. Best place I found them is: Hayden Coolers (http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=2&Category_Code=hayden-transaver)
I use the 1679 model and it fits very well.

These splices are for 3/8" hose and the GM hose I believe is 11/32". They will be tight but should work well.
