Mine was similar to yours, but set up a little more. I had two 12s and the amp/cap set underneath the box out of view.

nice i was thinking of that but them i didnt want my amp to over heat.. so now i got a new box that sits higher on a slant then i got my amp right behind the seat on the flat part. then i tinted my windo so it wouldent effect it..:)

I've got a single 10" drivers side stealth box housing An elemental Designs 11K.V2 (http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_21&products_id=30&osCsid=4baff3f111c38c37ebdb476f3b9730d0):D

A great sub for the Stealth Box, handles quite a bit of power, and produces a decent amount of bass;)

Subthump.com (http://subthump.com/acamarostealth.htm) carries both Driver & Passenger side Stealth Boxes. With both I think you'd have a TON of bass:) If your only looking for low end coverage a single 11K.V2 does the trick.

If you want to rattle the neighbors windows out you'll need to look into the full rear well enclosures. Subthump also has those, some of which can keep spots for t-tops if needed.

Here's mine. Not a Sub or mono amp, it's a 4 channel amp driving the 4 factory replaced speakers (6.5" polks).

It's all kind of a mess right now since I just had everything apart replacing my convertible top, but you get the idea.

It doesnt interfere with the spare tire, isn't visable since it stands up behind the molded felt trunk lining stuff, and doesn't take up ANY usuable trunk space, as was the goal.

Basically same setup as me, obviously different speakers and different amps. I just don't want to go take pictures, haha. Are those 10's or 12's? My setup is with 12's.

with thsi set up has anyone try putting there amps under the box..and did they have a problem with the amp overheating or anything??

burnout96

i wouldn't do that, that makes the space that the amps are in sealed and will cause them to overheat, they need to breath

idk about the window tint being able to cut down on heat. mines tinted 20% mainly due to theft issues

that is a group loop. a ground loop isolator can help with that, but you also can just try regrounding your wire from the amp. if you ground to the chassis make sure you wire brush away paint before tapping onto the metal for a groud

Hey, y'all

Has anyone done a down-firing set-up?

I just put a Clarion in the dash, got lucky and the car came with Alpine Type S coaxials in all four corners... but 5.25s  !! Ehh, whatever, I'm really amazed at how good they sound for head unit power. I'll swap them when I get the sub figured out.

So I'm trying to figure how to put subs and amps in w/out taking up ALL the space, and I figure down-firing would be about the only way; mount the amps to the back of the box, maybe?

I'd like to put my 2-12" HX2s in there, but I can always use my 2-10" C-VRs. I have plenty of power... I just need a design. I do my own wood and fiberglassing....

So, does down-firing work in the tubs? Anyone seen one?!

Thanks.

no idea what downfireing is but u can do a set up like this with 12's on both side sence u do all your owne wood and fiberglass to save some space up in the back...adn mount he amps somewere out of the way...

i got the tpye s speakers in all 4 courners to hooked up to a mtx thunder 4 channel..sounds great:D

I loved the old system. You could not see any screws, and the subs had bolts and nuts. There was approximately 15 cars broken into that night, and they could not take mine, so they destroyed it. I came out side to find the subs punched in and cut, the vinyl was torn apart, the amps were gone, the amp rack was hanging out of my trunk. My driver window was broke...but the door was unlocked. Ripped out the stereo. I had approximately 2500 into it, but insurance only covered 1000.

So I have not gotten a good amp to push the new box, but I do like it so far. But the old one was a complete custom job.

You've gotta be careful when you have a lot of bass in your Camaro. Getting that smell out can be tricky.
