Well I bit the bullet and went and ordered my new rally yellow 2SS/RS with black interior. They said they were allocated 13 Camaros and I was their 7th order. All of their orders were for the V-8, they haven't sold any V-6's yet. :/ I'm hoping I will still get mine in a timely manner.
They also said they found out recently that GM will be sending them not one, but two V-6 models for the purpose of showing, but they said if people want to buy them, they'll sell them immediately.
Everything went good except for seeing how much sales tax is ($2700!) and that stupid $384 so-called 'processing fee', what garbage.

Yeah, but you can itemize that sales tax and I would at least try to negotiate that fee off the price of the car...maybe throw in an engine cover or something.

I know this is recent news, but the new stimulus plan states that taxes on NEW car purchases are waived. I wonder if you still fall under this.

All state and local taxes are supposed to be 100% tax deductible...unfortunately it would have been A LOT more if the republicans had their way, and would have only applied to domestic cars, not foreign.

Big difference between waived taxes and deductible taxes. Unfortunately, it's only deductible. Still better than nothing, though.

To be honest. I'm sure people thinking about purchasing a foreign car will not think twice of buying an American car just because of the tax break.
