Anyone with a power antenna tried this mod?

I hate how whenever you shut off the radio/turn it on etc the antenna goes up and down automatically, therefore wearing out faster. And since I rarely ever listen to the radio, I'm thinking about doin this lil thing. Looks fairly simply, and since the guy's using the convertible switch for it, it will look factory. Anyone else tried this to confirm it actually works? Is it hard to do? And is the wiring on a '97 and a '02 the same with the antenna thing? (since he says he did it on a '97 in the article)

A friend of mine did that on his Cutlass. All you have to do is tie into a power lead, a ground and the power antenna remote switch. Pretty simple to do.

Yep, I've been doing that mod for years now.

Don't need the mod... Alpine HUs have the feature built right in...

If you're on Radio... your antenna is up,

If you're on CD... Your antenna is down...

One more great feature of Alpine....

you can mount to any switch u want if u want u can do it to traction or foglight switch as well

i dont mind mine being up.....well i think its up when i listen to cds
