darkoverlift 01-06-2003, 06:03 PM Sounds great... Is there something with the MCO going on this upcomming weekend? For the manager to show continued support we really need a good showing... Can we put flyers on cars at the mall... I would help out on that.. We just park and walk around and stick a flyer on every rear wheel drive american car... One way to generate some support.. I could do the oviedo mall.... Just go until the mall security tosses us out or we can actually get permission.... Also if there are any flyers let me know and email me one because i can post it at work...
bigmike92z 01-06-2003, 09:23 PM isnt hooters on the right if you're coming from I4. its the hooters in casselberry on 436 correct? If so, its on the right just past semoron skateway and Rockys Replay.

Just my opinion here, but it really pi$$es me off when people walk around and stick stuff on my windshield. And if ANYBODY was to touch my SS I'd go freaky on their a$$ when I caught them.
Others may disagree with me, that's fine. I just wanted to say that I don't want to be party to that kind of promotion.
red96gt 01-06-2003, 10:06 PM yeah sorry my mistake it would be on the rite :)
former86 we have bis cards with our name and web site on them
that we have passed out to some people and put one or two under the wind shield wiper but really were not going to nutts yet due to the the fact were two months old and allready have a sponcer and 50 regesterd members..
but anything extra you would like to do is fine
and if ya have any ideahs shoot them over to the web board has ya can see were taking everyones ideah very serious..

darkoverlift 01-07-2003, 08:00 AM Is there anything I can do just send me an email.... I have a spare 10 inch sub box we can raffle off.... I can include my two 10's in it for 30bucks or trade for a cut out... The box and subs have never been used. Could be a good cheap way to get more people out... Like only new members or current members who bring a new person out can enter... I also have for free we can raffle off some Crane fire wires for a third gen v6.... Just ideas...I am sure we can all come up with some stuff we have that we never used that we can raffle off...
darkoverlift 01-07-2003, 10:00 AM I have seen this done back in indiana... Car clubs will take out an add in the paper under antique and muscle cars for sale saying so and so will be meeting friday yadada... Think about it if we can do it.. 30 bucks and run it for a few weekends and people who are looking for muscle cars will see it... Just another way to get the name out....Might even turn it into a swap meet along with car show.... Give people a reason to come out... We might even be able to get a zano distributor out or get a local speed shop to being a few products out for sale...
SageofKnight 01-07-2003, 10:15 AM I'm pretty sure car clubs can get listed in the Orlando Sentinel for free. (transportation section)
anasazi 01-07-2003, 11:14 AM i hate when people put **** on my car, they do it all the time here at the apartments and it always just gets thrown onto the ground without being looked at.
but other than that, i'll prolly check ya'll out
darkoverlift 01-07-2003, 11:19 AM I toss it on the ground too, but there are those that look at it... If we get one out of every one hundred it is a success....
anasazi 01-07-2003, 11:25 AM there is someone here with a beater type car and one of those flyer things landed on his paint, and overnight it got wet and then sat in the sun.... there is now a color impression on the side of his car of the flyer.
this is why i don't like stuff on my car :)
S. Holley 01-07-2003, 11:36 AM Hey guys...can we be clear on the meeting place and time.... Thanks...
It seems like the hooters on 436 (east of I-4) on the right hand side.
Not the one on 434 and 436 which is West Of I-4.
This weekend or is it Next?
Thanks... What time! This would be a day event? Or night... It gets dark about 6-6:30
thanks
darkoverlift 01-07-2003, 11:41 AM Would everyone agree or accept putting up flyers in mail boxes or on note boards apartments have up? Is that cool and ifthere is somethign going on this weekend does MCO have a flyer already made I can distribute out.
Why not put a flyer at the local car dealers like chevy and ford..
anasazi 01-07-2003, 06:08 PM just a word of warning though, its my understanding that anyone accessing a mailbox other than a US mail employee or the person who's mail gets delivered there is committing some sort of crime.
red96gt 01-07-2003, 06:25 PM ok lol the hooters is the one rite down from red bug road on 436 comeing from altamonte its on the rite.... the meeting time is 6-10pm first weekend of everymonth next meeting will be saturday feb 1st...

MustangEater82 01-07-2003, 07:46 PM hmm.... I am getting more and more interest in this :)
I am free this saturday anything going on this sat?
As for advertising, as a UCF student me or osme others can puts some flyers up and around campus, mainly on the parking garages near the stair wells... Mosyt people that take an interest in their car park in the 4 garages anyways.
Anyone know if UCF still has free printers? Could be real cheap to print up the flyers :).
JimMueller 01-07-2003, 08:22 PM Re: Flyers, I agree with 2002Z28SSConv and Anasazi. I dislike any carbon based organisms which touch any part of my vehicle without my permission. To me it's the same level as those d4mn cats which like to sleep on the hood at night because of a warm engine, etc. I love waking up to a vehicle with pawprints all over the hood and roof.
I wonder if this is the same manager who reprimanded his waitresses for performing poses 'unbecoming' of their establishment on cars last summer. LOL.
They must need business, their parking lot isn't terribly huge...maybe 50-60 spots. Never counted, but I drive past their lot every day. Why 6-10PM? Daylight would be easier to see the cars, and not as dang cold either. Who the heck judges a car show in the dark?
I know, advertise that the winner in each class will get a nice warm glass of milk, straight from the tap :D

hehe I knew about the autocross I was thinking more along the lines of at night.
I am having some oil pressure fluctuations, I am 99.5% sure its oil filter related, I need to do a oil change and fix some exhasut hangers before sat, but I most likely will be there attempting to make my bald tires grip to something.
As for Muscle car... my car is a muscle car in the purest form, more torque then HP, RWD, overweight, always has something worng with it and cops love to pull it over.
2002Z28SSConv 01-08-2003, 05:29 AM You know I was just kidding.

ohh I know you were... You felt the vast power of the 3.4L waaay back, when you ran my car at Tyco Airfield, you were trembling with awe after feeling the mighty power that is the 3.4L.:D
I just ahd a thought maybe you should take my car out for a fun run Sat. You haven't driven it with the STB, sways, poly torque arm bushing, fully functional tranny, new clutch, and roughly half a second worth more hp then when you ran it.

Duct tape is to fourthgen owner as zip tie is to thirdgen owner...
darkoverlift 01-09-2003, 11:39 AM Well Well Well.... Uses of Duct Tape..
Lost your watch? Duct tape your traveling alarm clock to your wrist
Work on those abs while you lie on the couch, watching TV. Duct tape the remote control to your foot so you are forced to do a sit-up whenever you want to change the channel.
Hands-off contact lens remover
Duct tape some bubble wrap to your friends's car's tires. When they drive away, they'll think someone's shooting at them with an automatic rifle.
Use your circular saw to cut a slit in the top of your workbench, then use plenty of duct tape to mount that same saw under the workbench so that the blade comes through the slit. You now have a table saw.
94REDSTALLIONZ 01-09-2003, 02:44 PM Damn i need to get my car fixed :( as soon as she is all finished up I will swing by there with my new set-up :D should be pretty cool..see ya'll there sometime soon!!

MustangEater82 01-09-2003, 03:31 PM hehe
at this very moment, there is something on my car being held to gether by duct tape, another thing by a zip tie, another by steel wire, and another with a bungee cord.
Also forgot electrical tape, the camouflage duct tape.
I thin I have all the ghetto bases covered...
red96gt 01-09-2003, 03:47 PM OHHHH WE GOT CARTER AND JOSH EDDIE COMEING TO OUR NEXT EVENT WE NOW ARE ALLOWED TO CALL OUR SELVES A CAR CLUB LMAO!!!

Do an oil change, and see what happens. If that don't do it, I will bet it is your pressure sending unit. They go bad, and like to jump around...

well the inside of my passenger door is held together by duct tape,
and i used to have a few vacuum hoses taped together with duct tape, covering up vacuum leaks etc etc
but thats it for now :)
oh, electrical tape, i use that crap to cover up my crappy wiring skills... used it extensivly when i installed my power antenna
darkoverlift 01-12-2003, 09:37 PM Do you guys have all the MCO members on a distribution list so you can email everyone before events?
What about seeing if we could rent out OSW or Daytona for an hour before an event or something like that...
Fund Raiser Time... Need to setup a nonprofit account at some bank fo funds and put a donation jar out to raise some cash...
JimMueller 01-12-2003, 10:57 PM Larry Skipper talked to the owners of OSW in 2001 (I think) about getting a group together for dedicated track access. Seems to me they quoted something like $1500 for a day. It fell apart in the end, but they need to have the full staff, ambulance drivers, etc there.
I'm all for Daytona if we're allowed to do some track testing :D
