Happy holidays! We are very happy to announce some great changes to the CamaroZ28.Com community. We have always been doing our very best to expand and grow, and this coming year will be full of awesome changes, starting tonight.
Continue to the following posts...
JasonD 12-25-2008, 12:10 AM FIRST GIFT TO YOU
You probably noticed the new logo at the top (if you don't see it, clear your cache). It has gone through some changes over the years (be watching for a blog entry about it) and this recent one is truly a clear evolution of the CamaroZ28.Com style. Don't get settled on it yet, it will be evolving again slightly in the future as the rest of the site evolves to catch up with it. More on that when we get it done. If anyone needs a logo designed, please feel free to PM me for contact information of the person who helped us with it.
Soon we plan to release an all new line of CamaroZ28.Com gear. If you want to get any of the "classic" CamaroZ28.Com goodies, get them while you can here:

They are way past the time to be retired!

shock6906 12-25-2008, 11:04 AM I would do the animated avatar if my girl's boobs did a jiggle, but they don't, so I won't. No extra PM space for the power members?
Mighty 12-25-2008, 11:17 AM Maybe I'm missing something, but what's different in the Premium Member benefits that accounts for an $8 raise?

Flood control is reducedNo, I mean don't Premium Members already have all that?
shock6906 12-25-2008, 06:38 PM No, I mean don't Premium Members already have all that?
I've had it for as long as I can remember. The photo album stuff is new within the last couple of months, but it's nothing new since last night.
JP95ZM6 12-25-2008, 09:35 PM Nice, glad to see more features. I'm not sure the member level hierarchy is balanced yet, though.
I re-upped ~10DEC08 and it was $20 then I believe. But did not see the new power user option. I almost didn't do it, but my avatar had disappeared and it took me too long to find my posts.
Free membership (now, not then) gives the avatar, and if mine had not disappeared, I might have saved my $20. Seems the free level now enables most of the benefits of the old premium - I was more or less doing it for the avatar, but more PMs is nice. I'm not sure the photo album is high value, as it's pretty easy to just link to an existing album on the web. Easier, in fact.
I think you need to boost premium features a bit IMO or #s may decline. Now, if premium included a TOTAL post counter, lounge included, I'd probably go for it again next year. And maybe <5 second flood control, or more advanced search capabilities. Current search is clumsy at best.

You probably reupped for two years, then. I just reupped my premium membership earlier this month and it was $12/1-year $20/2-years.

And maybe <5 second flood control, or more advanced search capabilities. Current search is clumsy at best.I agree. I feel like the regular users got a HUGE present with free avatars. And now premium membership is $8 more? I expect that the number of premium memberships will decline. I bought my premium memberships for two reasons, to support the site and for a avatar. The extra PM space and shorter wait between posts is nice but I don't do a whole lot of selling nor am I post whore so basically I've lost any incentive to renew again. Granted who knows if I'll still have a Camaro when my membership ends (2010)
mdenz3 12-26-2008, 03:58 PM Why no more PMs for Power users?
Threxx 12-26-2008, 04:48 PM Seriously? It's going to cost me $40/yr to use invisible mode? A feature that was, up until now, free, and is free on 99% of other forums?
I understand power membership unlocking things that cost the board more to run in terms of bandwidth and development time, but locking down the invisible feature to those that don't fork over 40 bucks a year seems so arbitrary. No reason for it other than to punish those who aren't paying.
I got my premium membership for the same reason I bought the old server from you guys for 10x what it was worth in terms of parts... because I wanted to support the site.
But this almost feels like a ransom of sort. "Give us $40/yr or you can't use the feature you were using for free before even though it doesn't cost us anything either way."
ws6transam 12-26-2008, 08:12 PM Threxx has a good point.
ChrisFrez 12-26-2008, 10:31 PM Consider the above settings a BETA. Some of them are still being tweaked, so don't be surprised if they change a bitt
Still tweaking.
JasonD 12-28-2008, 08:47 PM Still tweaking.
Which is what BETA means. :) Suggestions noted and appreciated!
If you haven't already, here's a reminder to download and install the CamaroZ28.Com toolbar, even if you aren't a fan of toolbars (as I wasn't), give it a shot. The URL is camaroz28.com/toolbar (http://www.camaroz28.com/toolbar)
Just check it out and also give some feedback before we start expanding on it.
Counted Out 12-29-2008, 03:29 AM This is sweet for cheap asses like me.
JasonD 12-29-2008, 09:36 AM Okay, just made some tweaks to the member subscription levels.
We received some interesting feedback on this and made some changes accordingly. You spoke, we listened! Some things we couldn't do, others worked great. Special thanks to those who e-mailed and PM'd with some terrific suggestions.
So, here's what we did...we moved the guts of the Power Member benefits into the Premium Membership, recalculated the fees and there ya go, the best of both worlds and less complicated. See post #4 in this thread for a synopsis.
All who signed up at the Premium Member slightly higher rate and Power Member levels will receive a PM from me shortly.
So, now that we have that taken care of, what does everyone think of the CamaroZ28.Com toolbar? :D
shock6906 12-29-2008, 09:39 AM The updated feature set is much better. :)
Chevycobb 12-29-2008, 10:06 AM I can dig it
like many, not a fan of toolbars, but I do like that I can listen to the podcast right on it
johnny6 12-29-2008, 11:14 AM Great upgrade :thumb: Will the toolbar work on google chrome?
JasonD 12-29-2008, 11:25 AM Great upgrade :thumb: Will the toolbar work on google chrome?
I do not believe so...Firefox and IE at this time. Sorry.
JasonD 12-29-2008, 12:48 PM Toolbar updated already! Minor changes, added a few RSS feeds and made some cosmetic changes.
Chevycobb 12-29-2008, 03:45 PM nice. like how the feeds are split up
hrobey 12-30-2008, 01:05 PM Thanks for the avatar!
tireburnin 12-30-2008, 05:54 PM I've made plenty of money selling my car parts in the forums to fund my buildups. I'm happy to support the community for another two years. It always surprises me when I see the "time to send us money email" because I can't believe how fast time flies by.
mdenz4 12-31-2008, 11:43 PM I like the updated structure, and as soon as I get back from Vaca and get my email and account straitened out I'll be re-uping for 2 years. :cz28: :thumb:
I wouldn't mind paying for a Power User if It had a bit more PM space.
JP95ZM6 01-02-2009, 11:42 PM Way to go, guys. Changes appreciated, only $5 more over 2 years seems pretty reasonable, and IMO the premium upgrade is appealing again!
LovSSin 01-03-2009, 08:02 AM Thanks for the gift Santa Frezza/Debler
Threxx 01-06-2009, 05:20 PM Thanks for enabling invisible mode again.
