I am picking up the car from paint today and have a question. I bought the hockey stripes off ebay and was wondering if there was a length of time I should wait before applying them to the car. I asked the shop that painted it and he said about two weeks:think: Seems a bit long to me. I have a car show New Year's day and was wanting to have the stripes on at that point. Obviously I don't want to jack the new paint but two weeks just seems a bit excessive for paint to cure. I mean you can wash it in a week so why not then?
Single stage poly ureathene paint (sorry if misspelled). What do you guys think?

I was gonna say a month... It takes quite a while for all of the solvents to evaporate out of the paint. And why did you go with the single stage?

If it has been baked in the booth about 2 weeks, if not a month or longer. You can wash your car the next day and most bodyshops will wash them for you anyway to clean up their mess. Don't rush it. If you do it'll cause bubbles under the decal and leave an imprint when you remove them. If it's too soft the contact paper can as well. You also can not wax it for at least a month.

Single stage was for money reasons. Can't buy it if you don't have it and with a kid on the way, hard to justify to the mrs.
It was baked on but I have resolved to wait a month. Wanted to have them on before New Years Day car show but I have decided to wait to be safe. I know about the waxing. That's what I am going to do is wait 30 days, then apply stripes, then wax car...Then take lots of pictures!!!

I'm getting ready to do the same. Can you post some pics when you get everything done? I'm planning on going with jet black and gold hockey stripes.
