I was building a 2009 Chevy 2500 and come across an awesome feature. Here it is in detail:

2-Way Advanced Remote, 2-way key fob that communicates vehicle data to the user from the vehicle. It has a display screen that provides data, such as is the vehicle locked, fuel levels, tire pressure, odometer and more. Also provides extended remote starting range over factory options. Not available with power rear sliding window.

Its a $398 option. Im down for this option if available.

We have not gotten word that this will be an option thus far.

I was in the dealer the other day & they had the 2-way remote starts on the shelves as replacement ones... at the very least you could but one & swap it out.

highly doubtful...you can't just buy the remote and make it work.

I have to admit I am interested in how the remote start is going to work. There is a picture of the key on the Camaro site and I don’t see a remote start button on there. I guess it could be the key for the Manual version.

I have remote start on mine. Hit lock twice, then the start button. I'll send up a pic or video later on unless someone else beats me to it.

That's a lot of money for features that you'll hardly ever use. They should have the ability to roll all the windows down and open the sunroof standard like the Beemers. Remote start should be an option.

I myself have never encountered a situation where I thought that I would need to roll the windows down or open the sunroof when I am not in the car. Then again, features like that is why BMWs cost what they do.

It doesn't get as hot year round in Detroit as it does in the south. ;)

Having them all open when you're walking to your car in the parking lot after work vents all the hot air out before you have to get in. It wouldn't cost anything to have this other than a little extra wiring and maybe a couple relays and some creativity.

That's a good idea. Despite the Detroit area, sometimes I leave my windows cracked just a bit. :)

Yeah. Although usages will vary, it would be a nice feature to have at some point no matter where you live. Just don't do it on accident in the rain/snow.

That's another thing I thought of...say you are at a car show and it starts to rain and you are caught up chatting with other Camaro dudes...grab the remote, zip the windows and sunroof closed. Then again...that wouldn't be much of an issue with many. Overall, it really isn't of much use to me personally. Kinda neat but not a fan for my usage.

See, they don't have to be creative, just steal good ideas from other companies. There's nothing wrong with that if it helps sell cars.

You know what’s funny, I wrote a comment about the end but I wasn’t logged in so I guess it got cut off. Funny story about that I was at my girl’s house and I was on my laptop with head phones on and I laughed super loud and scared her half to death!

P.S.
I say steal anything that’s going to make it better for me and fellow buyers!

The video I posted was my first attempt. I recorded it 3 more times after that and they were all perfect, but I liked the one I posted because it was fun(ny).
