1LE legal in F Stock?
Since the 1LE upgrade was a factory option for Z28 Camaros (and maybe other Camaros as far as I know) does that make any 1LE parts legal for stock autox class? I don't recall any separate classing for the 1LE optioned Camaros.
If true then a F Stock 1LE Z28 will probably outhandle my B Stock SS! And make as much HP too if its a late model LS1. Hmmm, something stinks about this ;-)

In the three auto X's that I have run, they haven't had any problems with 1LEs running thier factory equipment. Every time I run a buddy of mine brings his 92 1LE, big brakes and no heater core/radio etc - they have never said a thing.
The 1LE is legal in it's stock class. When I say this, for instance, I mean that a Z28 1LE would be in FS and an SS 1LE will be in BS.
In addition, you CAN upgrade your car to 1LE specs. However, absolutely everything that is different about your years' 1LE package must be done to keep it stock-legal. For instance, you can't just upgrade the brakes...

This has been discussed over at LS1.COM recently. I drive a 98 Z28 in F-stock. As far as I'm concerned, they can put the 1LE's, the SS's and the Z28's (or any V8 Camaro) in F-Stock and it would be fine with me. In autocross, the driver is such a huge proportion of performance at an event, that I don't think that the 1LE nor the SS are that big of a difference.
I speculate that once the SS's are a few more years old, they will be moved to f-stock to keep up with the future, new Mustangs. This will keep the class "fresh" even with a car that is no longer made. This is just my speculation...
