JasonD 12-11-2008, 10:09 AM Can you define the problem a bit further? The example you gave is too small to even tell what is going on...or is that the problem? Which thumbnails and when?
robvas 12-11-2008, 10:31 AM That's a thumbnail from ImageShack. But I'll explain it for you:
Let's say I have an image. Being the polite guy that I am, I upload a small 200x200 thumbnail or whatever.
http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/7550/1996chevroletcamaroz28lve4.jpg
Now, lets say I try to make that image a clickable thumbnail, so if you click on the image, it takes you to a bigger version of the image:

Let's say I have an image. Being the polite guy that I am, I upload a small 200x200 thumbnail or whatever. I'll just use a the URL tag.

When I preview the post, it works fine. But when I actually view the post in the forum, it doesn't work. When you mouseover it, the little Javascript that runs on the site takes over.
The same thing would happen if I tried to make an image link to a web site:
http://www.rosspistons.com/images/JEGS_1.jpg (www.jegs.com)
Clicking on that should take you to Jegs.com. But it doesn't. Instead you get this:

Can you turn the 'click to resize' off for images smaller than, say, 400x300 or something?
JasonD 12-11-2008, 10:51 AM Okay, gotcha. I think you are the only person who makes thumbnails manually. What a guy.
There's really not much of a way at this time to avoid the issue. We plan to do an upgrade in the future, and I think the newer version has better image resizing provisions and we may not need to use the custom coding that we have in place now.
Thanks.

Pretty much every image host has a 'thumbnail feature' which does the exact same thing.
You're basically breaking those thumbnails to use a JavaScript image resize that's even more broken.
VladimirSteel 12-11-2008, 04:07 PM ill go ahead and mention something else to do with images in here. Jason have you changed the size that it resizes things to? i was just looking at the funny pics thread and i noticed i couldnt read what the motivational pics said anymore without clicking on them. I thought that i used to be able to, and it was quite annoying. I would say that the size they were before was perfect, or at least way better than it is now. i dont see any need to make them so small now.
robvas 12-11-2008, 04:26 PM They changed something. Everything is way too small now.
JasonD 12-11-2008, 07:55 PM Sorry, I was tweaking things trying to fix Rob's issue and left something with the wrong number. :) Should be better now.
mdacton 12-11-2008, 08:07 PM It best be, or I will be having a talk with an important person
one wicked element 12-23-2008, 04:21 PM It's all broken now. All the pictures are no longer resizing - they are coming up full size.
Can this looked into?
Thank you so much!

Same here. It seems like they resize the first time you look at a thread, but after that, they're all full-size. It's weird.

Thanks for those. Unless I figure it out before anyone replies...
Thread?
Browser?
Operating System?
Nothing has been changed since my last entry in this one, AFAIK.
JasonD 12-23-2008, 07:14 PM Hmmm...odd...seems pretty broken. Working on it. See this thread here...

Thread = Any thread with pictures in it.
However, since you've disabled the view, I can't link one to show you.
Browser = FireFox 3.5
OS = Windows XP SP3.
I can check different systems (Linux and Windows ver) and Browsers (FireFox, IE, and anything else) if you'd like....
Let me know.
Milo.

It's done it to me using Internet Explorers 6 and 7, and on Windows XP SP3 and Vista home premium.
