You need to see how much extra you have then try a few sizes smaller. That is what I did. Buy a few belts and return the rest.

tell ya how to do it....

"You will however need a longer belt, I used Dayco 968K6 belt. It is basically a 96.8" 6 rib belt. All parts stores stock just about every length of belt in every width. They should be able to find it using these numbers. If you have an underdrive pully you will need Dayco pn# 935K6 which is actually shorter than the stock belt by one inch."

Just cut your belt and route it around and see how much left over you have.Use that as a measuring devise for the shorter belt

why not use the delete pulley........cheaper and you don't have to worry about a new belt.

for about the same price you can get a shorter belt and have less crap under the hood.

When we deleted the smog pump on my 91 I used the same belt as before but I think we routed it a little different.I also have underdrives (3 piece) so the belt was already shorter anyway. I don't have acces to my car to tell you how it was routed but if ya can't figure it out I can call my friend that is storing the car for me and have him let me know how it is routed.

well you guys should certainly do what you think is best. i just wanted to let others know who might not want to hassle with changing there belt that the option is out there.

i have so many aftermarket part numbers and special pieces that i must remember in case of an emergency that a different belt and part number is one last thing i want to worry about being in stock at a store if i don't have to.

it's cheaper, weighs less than a paper weight and it's out of the way so no one will see it anyway.

do what you like, but it's nice to have options....
