I can see the inspiration for the salad shooter wheel in there. :)

Oh, and here's some trivia...
The California Concept was built off of a production V6 3rd gen Camaro, which had it's rear end smashed in an accident, as it was being shipped to a customer/dealer by rail.

For those who haven't seen the movie (which probably isn't many here) the California Camaro along with most of GMs late 80s concepts, including the 1988 Banshee, can be seen in "Demolition Man."
Didn't the California Camaro's fast windshield angle inspire a last minute redesign to get a more extreme windshield angle on the 4th gen production car.
I also remember seeing the Banshee in Knight Rider 2000.

They talk about the Cali Camaro in "All Corvettes Are Red" too, about the two design teams that were in competition for the final design. When Cali came out with that design without the Detroit team knowing about it, the Detroit team was a bit upset. At that point, all designs by the Detroit team were shelved and a new direction was taken for the 4th gen.
I said to myself at that part of teh book..."I wonder what it would have looked like if it was based off the Detroit's design."

very similar to the "california" Corvette (Stingray III). You never see these two cars together in pictures though.

I also remember seeing the Banshee in Knight Rider 2000.
That was actually something else the people at Knight Rider built. It's too ugly to show, so I won't lol.
The real Banshee concept is amazing. The California Camaro concept has its good angles, but that first pic isn't one of them!

Often wondered that myself... Wouldn't it be great to see inside GM's vault and see first hand all of the "Could've Been's"
