That's right...seven thousand plus so far. Not bad for a car that no one has driven or even seen in person! Most orders were indeed V8 models.

To me that's good in this economy. I think there are a lot of interested potential buyers like myself that want to see and experience the car before committing funds to it. I still have yet to actually see or sit in a production Camaro. I expect that will change later this month at the LA Auto Show.

Very nice! There obviously is a TON of interest in this car. I am glad that I ordered already because there is going to be even more interest once this car starts hitting the lots/cars.

More likely than not, the markup after production starts will be much higher than any on a pre-order. That gives the enthusiasts even more reason to order now.

That's great!
Still only sounds like an average of 2 cars per dealer.
Was there an overall amount that could be pre-ordered?
What happens if they don't fill all the pre-orders?
I would imagine eventually the dealers would be allowed to start ordering cars to put on the lot.
I just figured all the pre-orders would be taken up by enthusist looking to jump on the car. I guess not.

It sure would make a nice Christmas present ;) That's what I did back in '99. My Christmas present to me was '00 Z28. I didn't tell my wife & she is still pissed to this day.
