Okay, here we go with our first SEMA update.

Not much to report on yet. We got in this morning after a nifty and uncomfortable delay with our flight. Dropped our bags off at the hotel and hopped on to the monorail to head toward the convention center.

We passed by dozens of cars getting ready to go into the convention center I will never be able to own, got our credentials and pretty much left. There was no way we were getting in as today it was exhibitors only.

Not a problem, we made a few phone calls and saw the sights, usual bits.

Tomorrow is the big day, we'll be posting many more images for sure. Stay tuned!

Can't wait to see the new SEMA Camaros in person!!

Since they are both LS-based blocks.........the shorty headers will bolt right up and the cat-back should be for the Camaro too.

On the GM Performance experience thing, it mentions that the Camaro Black edition with the V6 will be faster than an LT1 powered Z29....

Am I missing something?
I thought there was only a Z28 option.

Looks like the one that Nelson Racing Engines has been working on. It also looks like the F-Bomb car that they worked on is in a picture behind the 3rd Gen.

I don't think so. I have pics of the "regular" 21" wheels and there is no word of that finish. good for inspiration, though!

None. In fact, I was talking with Fitx today and my die-cast almost got him in trouble. They saw my renderings and asked him why I had leaked it, and he had to explain that a) I was never informed of the Camaro GS car and b) if I was informed, I wouldn;t have leaked it.

I had been working on my design for 6 months. It is pure coincidence.

I'll be getting quite a few, it may be a while before I can post the "good" ones.

I am tired as hell, probably walked 50 miles today.

Saw all the Camaros at the display first thing this morning. They all look great, we got planety of nice pics but the iphone pics will have to do for now.

We talked to a lot of old friends at GM and made some new ones. You may want to listen to future Podcasts.

Seems that many cars had flat paint surfaces. Looked neat, but a fingernail scratch will make it look bad and I don't know how they can polish it out.

Lots of Challengers, and they all look pretty good. Some of the custom jobs are killer. Chris and I were talking and we both agreed that next year they will be replaced by Camaros. Everyone we talked to wanted to get one so they can start working on them. It is going to be a great year.

Did I mention that my previous Camaro is in the current issue of GMHTP? Yeah, it is. My point in mentioning that is that my next Camaro is already going to be visible. It will be at SEMA next year. :) More on this in my blog as things develop, but this isn't just a plan, this is actually going to happen. Do I ever have a lot of work to do.

Going back tomorrow, we'll see if we can fire a few more quick pics this way.

so which one of the 2 wheels is the ones thats on the black camaro? it doesnt really look as dark as that but not as bright as the polished. does anyone know this answer?

Many (maybe even most) cars at SEMA are owned by private individuals. They do not always have to be heavily modified, just done right.

im lost sorry. i thought this was a aftermarket show for the manufacturers? how can you just put a car into the show?

Maybe I can help: get your car built by one of the shops that goes to SEMA or has a well established name. It could be that the shop you're contracted to "build" your car has been asked to provide a car using their parts, they donate the parts they want you to use, your car is finished and wala...you're headed to SEMA. This is a very simplified version, but I think you'll get the point.

I don't think you can just enter any weekend project into the show. It would have to be almost completely built by a shop that has an invitation to the show. My stepdad used to do interior work for Prodigy Customs in Orlando and they entered a 67 Camaro at SEMA a year or two ago. Now it was actually Prodigy's owner's son's car, but it still could have been any customer's car as long as the work was exemplary.

A little late on this one, it was a loooong night.

Yesterday was pretty good, the show was a bit busier.

Nitrous Express has...(did you see this one coming?)...energy drinks. Chris and I tried some...not bad...has some body to it. The stuff should be available sometime early next year. I guess this is different than anything else, but they also had energy chews, like starburst. They stuff seemed to work, but I ate too many and got a bit loopy. Or...loopier than usual. Yu are only supposed to eat 4 or less in 24 hours. I am sure they will come out with all the details soon.

Otherwise, we ran into more people, hung out with the Streetfire guys, spent more times taking pics at the GM display and had a very cool meeting with Nitto tire about what is next for them.

Heading back to the show today, we'll see what else we can find that is cool.

So far what we are getting out of this is what we all thought...tons of companies out there are chomping at the bit to get a Camaro to make parts. Next year is gong to be awesome.

Tonight is the night everyone from the board meets up at Dick's Last resort in the Excalibur. I might need to buy some Excedrin in advance. ;)

thats what i thought. i thought it had to be a car from vendors at the show. i guess if you had slp or someone like lingenfelter build your car and they decided to make it the sema show car i could understand that. one of my buddies moved out to vegas and works for sin city customs doing some design work, and they built a few cars for sema last year. im not sure if they have any there this year though.
