What do I have to do to put 5th or 6th gen Z06 rims on a 1st gen Firebird? It seems like the inside of 5th gen rims are hitting the upper control arms and the tie rod. If any one can help me please let me know.

So since the mounting surface is closer to the outside of the wheel you will need wheel spacers (and possible longer studs) to make up the difference. Injuneer 11-01-2008, 02:55 PM As noted, you need a fairly thick adapter. Check with Skulte... he knows these cars well: http://www.skulte.com/ 68Firebird350ho 11-15-2008, 12:43 PM Thanks guys, I had a feeling I'd need spacers. But I was wondering if they sold disk brake spindels with slightly Tie rod connectors. The 18" rims were just bearly hitting them and i was planning to switch out the control arms for the tube style anyway, and i thenk 19" fronts and 20" backs wouldn't fit under the wheel wells. Thanks again for the posts. | ||
