I just bought a 95 Camaro Z28 with 3500 Miles on it. It is in mint condition. It is my daily driver because I bought it to drive it but I am trying to do everything I can to keep it nice. I am thinking about getting the underside of it undercoated to protect it from rust. Is it necessary with the Fourth generation Chassis or a waste of money. Will it drop the resale value of the vehicle and will I run to any problems working on it later.
Lastly is there anything that anyone would have done with their camaro if they could have bought it new to keep from certain things from happening or breaking. Like covering the dash to prevent it from cracking or undercoating it to prevent rust, seat covers to protect the orginal seats..ect.
Thanks

if you're not going to drive it in the snow/salt and you aren't right on the coast you should be ok. here are some pics of my 1995 T/A with 123k that was originally a hawaii car (a year or so) then north carolina for a few years (saw one dusting of snow) then florida for 5-6 years but not on the coast, az for 2 years and now northern indiana but stored winters... basically a car thats never seen winter salt and not really seen much ocean salt. as long as you clean the underbody once in a while (undercarriage car wash), you should be ok w/o aftermarket rustproofing

as for the other stuff i might have tried to get seat covers for the front seats since the leather tends to crack/tear. i would definately recommend tinting the windows and t-tops if you have them, and if you're in a warmer climate definately get sun shades to put in the front windshield on hot days so you don't end up with a cracked dashboard

What a find! You really only have 3,500 miles? on a 13 year old car:eek:
If it were me, I'd probably not drive it when the weather is rainy or anything just to preserve it.
You are far away from the snow/ salt area. When I wash my car I routinely hose under just to release any junk. You shouldnt need any kind of coating.
As far as other protection, I always buy some custom fit rubber mats and put my others in the trunk, Keep the leather cleaned and try to minimize the rubbing on the bolsters when getting in/ out.

Thanks For your replies!
I bought this car from my grandfather he purchased it when it was new. It has always been garaged and he never drove it (obviously). I have bought a dash cover, seatcovers, tinted the windows, and a bra for the car. I am still debating on undercoating. I live in Southern California about five miles from the beach. Its pretty dry but still really close to that huge body of Salt Water.
