I searched on here but for some reason I can't get the search to find "Bi-tron"
The other night I was on my way home from class on my 929 and I stopped at one of the only places you can buy 100% 93 octane gasoline (none of that 10% watered down crap). My bike is naked because I'm getting my new fairing set painted soon, and I have on a helmet with some cosmetic issues from anger problems :p . So, I look kind-of like a racer or enthusiast driving this ugly ass bike (that sounds like a beast) up to the only good gas station in town and paying out the ass for 93 octane and this guy comes out of nowhere asking me about my mileage and my bike. He asked if I knew about engine building after seeing my physics book bungee'd to the tail and putting two and two together. So I told him, yeah I know quite a bit and I've rebuilt a ****-load of small engines and just had a 408 put in my car and whatnot and he starts telling me about this product he's getting paid to do analysis on.
So according to him and a few user-reviews I've found online, this company, Bi-Tron has some new technology in their engine and oil treatment that REALLY works. I asked him all sorts of stuff like "if this stuff is so great why haven't I heard of it? I know how those biased tests are conducted.. ect"
He starts telling me that it amazes the hell out of him and he's not trying to market to me, and I can see the kind of truck he's driving :barf: and he's definitely not getting paid to market stuff. And he says its a relatively small company, as in they arent in the hundreds of millions of dollars ball-park, so they cant waste 50-60 million a year on advertising like STP and slick50 do, instead they do R&D. But he was telling me it works differently by seeking heat cavities in the nano-pores of the metals and seals the gaps that oils leave behind. But since I know chemicals and how oil works, i was asking him if its compatible with motorcycle engines with the wet clutch and special oil formula. He said thats the amazing part about it all is that it only seeks pores in metallic surfaces, so clutch plates don't get saturated and in fact the pores filled with the additive actually help clutches work better by creating a microscopic support structure between the little nano-mountain peaks of the metal that help keep them from breaking off as quickly as they do under normal conditions and provides more holding power and less friction wear! He claims you can actually get your brake pads wet with the additive and it won't negatively affect breaking power, yet when used in an engine it works better than any other tested additives!
All this seems WAY too sensational to be true, but people are claiming much quieter valvetrains, no gear chatter in transmisisons and rear-ends, and around 5-9 mpg increases on 4cyl engines with the gas-treatment. Theres one engine builder that says his pistons looked like new when his gaskets failed and he had to tear it down. But the majority of good reviews online were from RV/diesel fleet drivers.
HAS ANYONE TRIED IT? its some expensive stuff so I'm not going to buy it and pour it into my engine unless it works. I'm trying to talk them into a free 1 month supply for my bike so I can actually do a documented study because that thing would be easy to re-build. Right away though I started thinking about the sewing-machine valve-train noise i have from the big cam and springs in my car and I want to see if it gets any real-world results. I'll gladly pay an additional 20 dollars an oil change if it is noticeably quieter and smoother.
But really, does anyone know about it because this buy was extremely convincing after getting all fired-up about it and I'm not gullable.
