A very special thanks to my friend and site member JakeRobb for the programming help! :thumb:
Eric77TA 10-16-2008, 04:56 PM Very cool. Now we can waste hours working on configurations to our hearts content! Thanks for all of the hard work to both you and JakeRobb!
DAKMOR 10-16-2008, 05:04 PM i hope its a bit better/well programmed than the one at camaro5, that one froze on me.
EDIT: WOWOWOWO!! much simpler/easier, and kept me from ordering stuff I couldn't order on that specific model!
question!! can we really order 21" wheels on a 1LS?
HuJass 10-16-2008, 05:07 PM Jason,
Do the prices include the destination charge?
Any chance you could add the invoice pricing to the "breakdown" section?
JasonD 10-16-2008, 05:14 PM Honestly, I didn't know there was another one out there already...Jake and I have been working on this off and on for a couple of days now.
question!! can we really order 21" wheels on a 1LS?
Should be able to, it is a dealer option.
Jason,
Do the prices include the destination charge?
Noted at the bottom "Estimated price includes destination fees."
Any chance you could add the invoice pricing to the "breakdown" section?
Possibly!
I was playing with it...here's the least to the most...

DAKMOR 10-16-2008, 05:18 PM nevermind. got caught up in the model choice.
do you think we'll be allowed to order both 21" wheel sets?

Still cheaper than a base C6. :D
^Some of the LS interior options are th Inferno Orange stuff, I don't remember that being optional, is it or is that a bug?
There is a bug associated with the inferno orange interior option. I hope to have some time to fix it this weekend.
Any chance you could add the invoice pricing to the "breakdown" section?
I was thinking of adding that, as well as employee pricing, as well.
JakeRobb 10-16-2008, 05:26 PM do you think we'll be allowed to order both 21" wheel sets?
They're dealer options. They'd obviously only be able to put one set on your car, but I don't see why they would refuse to sell you an extra set if you are willing to pay. More profit! ;)

Seems like 2SS + RS + TR6060 + Hurst is going to be a pretty common setup around here. :D

Jason thats awesome. Man if you could do it with invoice that would be cool too. As in heres your calculated MSRP total and your invoice total... Might want to patent that one. Heres what I came up with and what Id like to get... one day. My first choice would be a dark blue if it looks good, and if it was available. Black always looks good but shows scratches the most. I am curious what the blade spoiler would actually look like and what it would cost. The 1st Gen spoiler looks good but Im not sure Id pay extra.

I'm not either, and since I'm flip-flopping on color, that's the main reason I haven't tried to order mine yet.
However, if IBM were available on the SS, I'd have one ordered already. :p
Seems like 2SS + RS + TR6060 + Hurst is going to be a pretty common setup around here. :D
Right now those are my "must haves". Without IBM available, I'm flexible on color either way. Which may ultimately have me waiting to buy when it hits the showroom, or waiting for HUD, or the convertible, or ... ;)
BTW, nice work JakeRobb.
blackbirdta 10-16-2008, 06:28 PM am i missing something with this 21" wheel and tire package for almost $5k? isn't that a little steep?:shock:
do we have any idea what some of these things like the car cover or hurst shifter will cost to buy later from a dealer or aftermarket company?
I'm torn b/w the 1SS and 2SS i really want leather and would like the steering wheel controls, etc but i may just get a 1SS and find leather seats out of a wrecked SS shortly down the road...assuming the cloth seats have the wiring for the heated seats stored under the carpet.
Tsujin 10-16-2008, 06:32 PM Thanks for making this, it's easier to see what options each trim has standard. One problem though, you left out something that I want on my Camaro...
VYO - Orange Stripe Package - $470
Can't build my Black SS2/RS with Orange stripes without it ;)
CosmicTrucker 10-16-2008, 07:28 PM Super Job with the build sheet program. It would have been cool to drop that on the salesman's desk the day I ordered my baby...http://www.camaroz28.com/camarobuilder/index.shtml?1ET37&MN6&GAQ&WRS-SS&AFM&NO&CF5&
GM owes you $
I changed my order today by deletiing the Auto Trans. The AFM with the L99 was an issue I wasn't willing to deal with. The Sunroof is probably the next thing I'll kill unless I'm able to see a few good photos or see the car in person.
Bob Cosby 10-16-2008, 07:39 PM Nice, simple, easy-to-use page. Good job, Jason.
Interestingly enough, I started with the base 1SS at $30,995, made my choices, and ended up with a final price of $30,995. Didn't want any of the cost options!
1ES37 Camaro 1SS $30,995.00
MN6 Tremec TR6060 6-speed Manual Transmission $0.00
GBA Black $0.00
20-inch Painted Silver Wheel $0.00
AFK Gray Cloth SS Interior $0.00
No Stripes $0.00
Total $30,995.00
Too bad there isn't an option to go with SMALLER wheels. I'd even pay for that (ya I know....I'm in the tiny minority). I sure don't want the 20" things.
johnny6 10-16-2008, 09:01 PM My dream 5th gen came in at $46,000 :( http://www.camaroz28.com/camarobuilder/index.shtml But i picked every option there is :D
Xilant 10-16-2008, 09:01 PM There are two upgrades that I'd like to buy that is offered by gm performance part but aren't listen in the options for the car. I'd like to get the L92 heads along with the hotcam. Can I buy those at the same time as the Camaro and get the dealership to install them so all I have to do when the car is ready is pick it up and drive away with over 500hp?
DAKMOR 10-16-2008, 10:18 PM JakeRobb, i'd like to extend my thanks for your hardwork on this project, as well as to the big guys, Chris and Jason for keeping this site up until this day(monday) has come for someone like me, who has never driven a Camaro and was only able to dream of it.
Jason Dove 10-16-2008, 10:46 PM Post your build here in this thread. Check out the details on 2010 Camaro I ordered!

No short throw Jason? My (future) build is exactly the same as yours except for that little dealer installed accessory.
JasonD 10-16-2008, 11:13 PM Glad everyone likes it! Believe it or not, this stemmed from a very basic version that I had made for SLP when I worked for them in 2003. Jake waved his magic wand over it along with adding a few hours of programming here and there over the past few days and is now light years ahead of how it started. In fact, nothing of the original is left except it being the start of it. :)
am i missing something with this 21" wheel and tire package for almost $5k? isn't that a little steep?:shock:
I agree, but GOOD wheels and tires don't come cheap. I don't know the exact details on the wheels in the optional packages yet, but maybe they are forged. For that price, I would think so but let me ask you this...when was the last time you bought something (anything!) at a dealership and said "Hey, that's a bargain!"?
VYO - Orange Stripe Package - $470
Can't build my Black SS2/RS with Orange stripes without it ;)
We can add that in. Anyone else know of something we missed, just post it here.
No short throw Jason? My (future) build is exactly the same as yours except for that little dealer installed accessory.
I left a lot of things off as I like to do a lot myself. My car is already scheduled to be in SEMA of 2009 (not kidding) so I need to weigh my options very carefully at this point, which is why I didn't check any of the stripes yet. :) I can always make changes to my order up until February. So can anyone else who placed and order and they can easily change their Camaro Builder link.

I want the HIDs but dont want to pay for the RS package. Does anybody know if we can get that seperate?
Also, the SS comes with the small spoiler correct?
DAKMOR 10-16-2008, 11:38 PM my mom said you should add a little box with the image of the car, how bout the one shot of it in all the different colors?
haha.
also, Hurst shifter when choosing automatics..? just trying to help.
JakeRobb 10-17-2008, 09:10 AM am i missing something with this 21" wheel and tire package for almost $5k? isn't that a little steep?:shock:
Again, the 21" wheel and tire options are from the dealer. This means that the cost of the car still includes the regular wheels and tires. Polished aluminum wheels are only $470 more than painted aluminum wheels, but you have to keep in mind that when you choose that option, you're subtracting the cost of the painted aluminum wheels before adding the cost of the polished.
Also, as Jason suggested, I suspect that the 21" wheels are extremely high quality pieces.
do we have any idea what some of these things like the car cover or hurst shifter will cost to buy later from a dealer or aftermarket company?
They are dealer options. The listed prices should be exactly what they'll cost at a dealership.
a wrecked SS

If you go to a GMPP dealer, I'm sure you could arrange that. However, they're not standard Camaro options, and I don't have prices or RPO codes or anything, so I can't really add them to the page.
my mom said you should add a little box with the image of the car, how bout the one shot of it in all the different colors?
haha.
I want very much to do that. Problem is, I don't have pictures of every possible combination, nor the Photoshop skills to create them myself. I might have it just show the V6 model in your selected color, but I'd like it to show exactly what you've configured.
also, Hurst shifter when choosing automatics..? just trying to help.
Yeah, I noticed that yesterday. :D

FactoryZ 10-17-2008, 11:41 AM awesome post, thank you for working on it. My fully loaded ss is not bad at all!!!!!!!!!
Mid-Life Crisis 10-17-2008, 12:08 PM Thanks for developing that tool. THAT's how it's done. I like the way it eliminates the options that don't apply. Obviously, we're all on computers here. No need to be calculating stuff manually anymore...

I didn't see the Carbon Trim Kit.

5thgen69camaro 10-17-2008, 11:09 PM I think it would be neat to add 0-60 1/4 mile and Nubring times to the final list or somewhere based on whether you pick V6 or V8 :D

I'd have to think it over quite a while longer with changes likely, but this would be the bones of what I'd want.
dacook 10-18-2008, 09:13 PM I don't see the intake, shorty headers, or cat-back on there.
ps this should be stickied and perfected/upgraded (add descriptions, maybe pictures, etc.) Or Chevy needs to sponsor it on its site.
btw thanks.
Xilant 10-19-2008, 01:26 PM I think this thread should get a sticky because I'm always trying to find it... I'm sure I'm not the only one that continuously pricing out the Camaro.
edit: oops, didn't notice dacook requested the same thing as me in the post above.
Gomerr 10-19-2008, 02:36 PM Just wondering, is the ground effects package guaranteed on the SS models? We have an ongoing debate at 5thgen.org between a friend and myself. Your current calculator allows it, however he debates its not possible.
Mind shedding light into this particular issue?
Thanks ;)

"Guaranteed"? Not sure what you mean by that.
The ground effects package is a dealer-installed item. I don't know why they wouldn't sell it to someone who orders an SS.
Does your friend have a reason why he thinks it's not possible, or is he just making an unsupported claim?
Gomerr 10-19-2008, 07:52 PM we've both heard some things ...but it wouldnt make sense if they couldnt come with it

Only things I couldn't add are orange rally stripes and orange door/dash panels. I would've added the inferno orange interior, but I don't want orange seats. I wanted black leather with orange stitching but I'll make do. The builder is kickass! Thanks fella's for putting it together!

Also, as Jason suggested, I suspect that the 21" wheels are extremely high quality pieces.
I doubt that. Its the dealership, of course its expensive. the chevy trucks with 20" package is pricey and those wheels arent anything special. save the money, buy an aftermarket set, but be prepared, 21s are so uncommon tire prices are $$$ 380ish per tire for the bmw 760li that has 21s on it, and VERY limited choices
Only one problem I have with ordering mine. I want the hockey stripe but dont want the hood stripe. Im not paying $500.00 for just the hocky stripe. When I do order hopefully can talk the dealer into just letting the hockey stripe go for less than that.

Or just purchase aftermarket decals on ebay, and having someone install them for you if your not capable.

mc4679 10-28-2008, 12:11 AM Hey quick question. I was building my camaro. I noticed there was an rs package and ground affects. I thought the RS package came with the ground affects. So what do you get when you purchase the RS package?
Primus 10-28-2008, 08:40 AM Halo headlights, 20" aluminum wheels, spoiler, car colored roof ditch molding. I think that's it.
JakeRobb 10-28-2008, 12:42 PM Hey quick question. I was building my camaro. I noticed there was an rs package and ground affects. I thought the RS package came with the ground affects. So what do you get when you purchase the RS package?
More specifically:
* Rear spoiler (this is already standard on 1SS and 2SS)
* 20-inch "Midnight Silver" painted aluminum wheels
* High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps with "halo ring" display
* Body-color roof ditch molding
* RS unique taillamps (they're tinted a little darker)
* RS badging (on an LT, this means you get a red "RS" badge; on an SS, you get a red "SS" badge instead of the usual silver "SS" badge)
Some additional points about the wheels:
- the standard 1SS and 2SS come with "Sterling Silver" painted aluminum wheels. I haven't seen photo confirmation, but as far as I know, these are the same design as the Midnight Silver, but with a brighter finish. The Midnight Silver wheels have a darker tone to them, to go along with the darker tail lamps.
- If you would prefer polished aluminum wheels, that's an additional $470 as a stand-alone option. You can get those wheels on an SS without the RS package (still $470), but if you want them on a 1LT or 2LT, you have to get the RS package before you're allowed to upgrade.
To me, the biggest value in the RS package is the HID lights. I don't really care much about the rest of it.
Also, just FYI, it's ground effects, with an E. :)
mc4679 10-28-2008, 06:04 PM Thanks for the info.. Im think about getting the 1ss and im not sure if the RS package is really worth it. The HID lights are nice but i just dont think its overal worth the price. I dont im sure ill change mind over and over again from now until i purchase the car
Yea i know i realized after i submitted that ground effects was spelled wrong.
Also does any know if you purcahse the ground effects and decide to install them youself would be it a lot cheaper.. I mean 2,250 for them seems really high.

Jason Dove 12-30-2008, 08:05 PM Jake, weren't you going to update the builder with Canadian prices? Also the blues are not available for the SS (I'm sure you're aware of this, just pointing it out if you're going to make modifications).

Life has been busy lately... hopefully I'll get to it sooner than later. :)
josh1147 01-08-2009, 12:39 PM Also, now that GMPP has announced pricing for their parts offerings, some of these items could show pricing in the tool also.
supermans2500HD 01-09-2009, 03:56 PM Its really gonna cost 37k out the door for a Camaro ss with decent options.
2010_5thgen 01-09-2009, 04:09 PM is that a question? thats not bad. i was watching comercials for the new 370z. 39grand was the model shown and it didnt even have all the options. 35 isnt bad at all
supermans2500HD 01-09-2009, 04:13 PM Is there any way to get the HID's without the RS package?
2010_5thgen 01-09-2009, 04:17 PM nope. well i cant say no, but aftermarket. not stock.

Thats an import...expected.... but a domestic? seems a little out of reach... cant buy a v8 for under 30k.....at least dodge has the RT for those that cant afford and srt. And you can get NAVI and othe options with that. They wanna complete with the mustang? I can get a v8 gt starting at 25K
2010_5thgen 01-09-2009, 04:21 PM actually base price is 29 for the v8. for the power and everything you get "standard", there is nothing that comes close to it. so you want the v8 and all the goodies and HID for under 30k?
supermans2500HD 01-09-2009, 04:30 PM Not all that for under 30... but 37 seems a little high. I am still gonna buy it.... but its a hard pill to swallow. I get 400 horse compared to the GT's 300hp. I judt dont like the direction these cars are taking. I sell to stupid people all day long that write checks for 50k for a challenger srt8... Its insane is all im saying. I have more options on my 03 bmw 530 than on the 1ss for 30 k
JakeRobb 01-09-2009, 04:44 PM I have more options on my 03 bmw 530 than on the 1ss for 30 k
Of course you do; that's a luxury car.
supermans2500HD 01-09-2009, 05:11 PM Still a nice car and worth it
JakeRobb 01-09-2009, 09:42 PM Still a nice car and worth it
Okay, what does that have to do with anything?
2010SSVERT 01-21-2009, 12:56 PM Glad everyone likes it! Believe it or not, this stemmed from a very basic version that I had made for SLP when I worked for them in 2003.
Duh, That's where it was from, I played with that a thousand times! I knew it was from somewhere I had been.

Wow...it is cool that you remember that.
My old SLP 2003 version is a caveman.
Jake's new CamaroZ28.Com version is an astronaut. :)
blackbirdta 01-21-2009, 10:05 PM I haven't used the calculator since october and I see it has been updated.
how is the 6% sales tax figured...wouldn't that depend on the state?
the 1 SS says graphic information display and outside temperature display. the 2 SS says driver information center compass. can someone explain what the 2 SS has that the 1 SS doesn't in the way of a "driver information display" type option?
do we know where the controls are for the heated leather seats and how simple swapping cloth for heated leather would be? thanks
MetalDragon 01-22-2009, 12:03 AM As far as I can tell, The DIC is identical standard on all the cars. The only difference is the addition of a compass feature on the 2LT / 2SS.
The seat heater controls are in the center of the AC control knobs. If the wiring harness is there, you would still need the AC controls with the switches in them.
Jason Dove 01-22-2009, 01:54 AM how is the 6% sales tax figured...wouldn't that depend on the state?
You can change the tax rate on the side... he just put 6% as the default value. Up here it's 12% :(

Yep. 6% is the sales tax in Michigan, but you can change it to whatever you want.
dacook 01-22-2009, 10:40 PM can you program a print button on the final price sheet?
blackbirdta 01-23-2009, 07:54 AM Yep. 6% is the sales tax in Michigan, but you can change it to whatever you want.
thanks...i'm not sure why i didn't think to change the value :o. i believe it's 3% here :)
JakeRobb 01-23-2009, 09:25 AM can you program a print button on the final price sheet?
Something wrong with the Print option on your File menu?
2010_5thgen 01-23-2009, 10:26 AM 38k. thats not as bad as i was expecting. doesnt GMPP web sight have the pricing up for the headers adn exhaust and all the misc. items on the last page of the camaro builder?

They do. Jason and I have been really busy, and we just haven't found the time to update it.
Good Ph.D 01-25-2009, 10:06 PM This has probably been asked, but is the "Hockey/Hood Stripe" option for Hockey or Hood Stripe and we're working under the assumption that they will be the same price?
2010_5thgen 01-26-2009, 08:28 AM the hockey / hood stripe is both. the racing stripes are a totall separate package. the hockey /hood stripe is the hockey stripes and a single, solid, wide stripe that goes on the hood and trunk lid.
Good Ph.D 01-26-2009, 08:52 AM Oh... so the racing stripes aren't on this program?

Yep; they come together.
2010_5thgen 01-26-2009, 10:24 AM Oh... so the racing stripes aren't on this program?
yeah racing stripes are on there.
JakeRobb 01-26-2009, 10:38 AM Oh... so the racing stripes aren't on this program?
There are two types of stripe packages available:
Hood/hockey stripes: the hockey stripes, plus a single, wide stripe down the middle
Rally stripes (just "stripe pkg" in CamaroBuilder): two stripes on the hood
