L98 on spray? Tried searching...

Tried serching but most threads are about the LT1.

Planning on adding nitrous to my engine but I have concerns about my bottom end. It´s a 1988 Camaro with L98 2 bolt 350.

I have stock cast crank, stock rods and hyper FT pistons with moly rings.
Rebuilt with new bearings all over. CR around 9.8

Other mods are:
Comp XFI268 cam
Brodix IK180 heads
HSR intake and 58mm TB
Headers and free flowing dual 2.5" exhaust
Walbro 255 fuel pump, DUI ingnition parts

Estimated hp now is in the range of 375-400, running mid 12 in the 1/4.

Looking into a NOS 05151 wet system and would like to run a 100hp shot in the 4000-6000 rpm range with the proper safety equipment like fuel pressure switch, lower ignition, rpm window switch etc.

Will adding spray on top of my other mods kill my engine right away or can I expect it to be at least semi-reliable?

You should be fine with a 100 shot on a stock bottom end. Just make sure you take a little timing out at first and read the plugs. You will be solidly in the 11's.

You will have to play with the fuel side jets on the 5151 kit, I think the 100 shot jet size is 55n-42f which is so rich it wouldn't even work on my car, nothing but black smoke out the tailpipe and a bog, the 150 jetting is the same, way too rich.

Their jetting assumes that you are using the stock fuel pump and the fuel flow will drop once the kit comes on which is why the fuel side is soo rich. You have an aftermarket pump, so you need to go down in jet size. Look on ebay and find some jets(I bought a pack of 6) for like $20 and you can pick and choose your jet sizes for all 6. Get some in-between what nos gives you, like 38-36-34 for the 100 shot range, etc.

Also use a jet calculator to find what jets you need, my 73n-38f on a 175 shot is still rich, but is way closer than the nos recommended 71n-52f.

Another question thats already beaten to death but one I didn´t find any answers to:

I am using Accel shorty plugs, 0414S, because of tight clearances against headers. This is a plug in the colder range of Accel´s.

Is anyone else using them with nitrous?
