So I have stock 245/50-16 rims. I am looking to get some NT555R on the back and was wondering if upgrading to a stock 17" (I believe 275/40-17) would be worth getting? Or would I get just as much traction on my stock 16's as I would with a stock 17' with NT555R's? Also, do I need to do anything to my car when upgrading to 17"s. Some one advise Relo Brackets. Are they required? Thanks

245/50-16 is the tire size. The stock wheel size is 16 x 8". To mount a 275/40-17 tire, you need a set of 17 x 9" or 17 x 9.5" wheels, with an offset in the range of 45-56mm.
You do not have to change anything else when running that wheel/tire combination. 17 x 9" is the stock size on the SS and WS6 coupes, so they are designed to fit from the factory, as long as the wheel offset is in the correct range.
I found a huge improvement in traction and handling going from 245/50-16 to 275/40-17.
"Relocation bracket" generally refers to the lower control arm (LCA) brackets. They are not required just because you change the wheel/tire setup. They will improve straight line traction on a stock ride height car, so they are always a good idea, but they have nothing to do with the wheel/tie size. Or possibly you are referring to spacers for the jounce bumpers (aka "bump stops"), and they are not required either.

Good advice. I honestly don't think you will pick up much traction off the line if any due to the heavier wheels but maybe you will. I deff. noticed better handling and felt more comfortable pushing my car through the corners when I upgraded from 245/50/16 Kuhmos to 275/40/17 BFG KDWS (When I put ZR1's on my 1997 Z28)

and I do a lot of pushing through the corners too. :) Am I going to be ok pushing the corners as hard as I do with DR 555r's on the back? Or do i need to cut that out a little? even with 16's or 17's?

If I wasn't doing any drag racing I'd put a set of nice street tires on it. Or buy 2 spare wheels to put drag radials on for the track.
