So we can place orders in October, but we have to wait another 3 months until we know what we are paying (this being based on disciples saying that pricing info will be released in January - which is ridiculous by the way, if its true). Or am I not understanding what "enter orders" means? Does this mean that dealer allocation will be determined prior to 10/13?

it is kind of confusing, i think it means the dealerships can put in what cars specifically they want. it doesn't mean they will get them first, a larger dealer with more pull/allocation will more likely get it before because they probably could afford more cars on their lot and can have a larger/wider selection while the smaller dealers will have to be more carefull with their picks because the wrong cars can sit for months.

Wow Chris, did you post this as soon as you walked out of the presentation today It was a great presentation btw. It was nice talking to you for a little bit at the Summit.

John Fitzpatrick said they are still sweating the details about pricing, and would like to have it available by October 13, but they couldn't guarantee that.

i doubt they will release pricing by then. they haven't even released pricing on the G8 GXP and that's set to come out even sooner.

they didn't sound too optimistic about having pricing by then, but they would like to have it by then if they could

Eh, that really doesn't mean anything at all.

This isn't an uncommon practice. My dad was a car salesman for 30 years and there are times where there are cars ON THE LOTS that don't have pricing - they come in with blank window stickers and then once pricing is determined, GM sends the stickers with the actual prices.

Didn't they say this was for a limited area? Or did I dream that part up?

Do dealers even know about this date? I e-mailed a very large out of state Chevy dealer that I may or may not purchase my Camaro from and they knew absolutely nothing about the 13th date...at least that is what I was told

Some don't yet as I don't think Chevrolet has actually officially gave them the info.

The wonders of the interwebz.

It must be a bitch to have your customers find out important release data before you do...

most dealers probably don't care at this moment. they are just trying to sell what they have on their lots right now. most times, they don't even want the sales people to know or put much thought to coming models/model changes because they need to sell what's available TODAY.
