ImportedRoomate 09-09-2008, 09:32 PM I didn't see it on tv because my brother told me too late, but here's an amature video from when the show was originally taped.

She's standing on it while others are doing flips off of it... wtf man
EDIT: CBS Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LBCmXxCTuc
Mustang_H8R 09-09-2008, 09:48 PM I just saw that. Mom yelled for me to see it.
JasonD 09-09-2008, 10:04 PM It is nice to see the new Camaro on TV...but personally, that setting is not for me.
I have no worries, it will be in my setting soon.
graham 09-09-2008, 10:42 PM Sweet! I love it! Fergie is one of the best live vocalist and she is soo talented.
91BigRedz28 09-09-2008, 10:59 PM Get that _____ off my car!!!
briand069 09-09-2008, 11:35 PM Hmmm...Maybe a Fergie edition Camaro..I'll take one of those w/Fergie included....At least the roof and the hood didn't cave in when she was dancing on it, I guess thats a good sign to the quality?
FactoryZ 09-09-2008, 11:40 PM Gotta give props to GM, this car has been in movies, music videos, and on stages with babes. Love it! some of you need to stop whining.
Wow no, just no.
This isn't the kind of publicity and marketing I was hoping for.
Jason Dove 09-10-2008, 02:10 AM I PVR'd it since I figured they'd do something with that previously posted image. I basically ffwd to the car, watched her thing... no mention of the car at all, went back a bit watched the lead-up to it, no mention, watched the post song and no mention. Maybe there was something later on... but it was just a nameless prop. It could have been a civic for anyone outside of the loop knew.
missmy79 09-10-2008, 11:45 AM Doesn't matter whether the camaro is mentioned or not. If somebody happens to be watching and sees the car and likes what they see, it'll stick in his or her brain for when they see one l8r.

BINGO!!! Absolutely.
Subliminal; exposure at its finest.... Planting the seed.
I am an old geezer. So, lets get that out of the way first.
To me anytime the General can get this kind of exposure that will attract the younger consumers, it is a winner!!!
I know I won't live forever, but I also realize, that the younger generation is going to be around a lot longer than I am. So, why not Target them.?????
ForYourMalice 09-10-2008, 12:35 PM Really? They couldn't find anybody better than this pig to promote the car to the younger generation? That was the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
Purple 92 SS 09-10-2008, 12:44 PM Get that _____ off my car!!!
QFT..
however, having the car there, on a major network broadcast, where many young folks will see it and be like thats killer car, i wonder what it is, or maybe i'd like to have one.. is good..
I could have done with out having them ON the car per say. and then the original blondie gets out of it... not bad.. not bad just wish they'd of stayed off the dang paint.
Xilant 09-10-2008, 12:51 PM Even though I don't like Fergie and think she fails horribly... Publicity is publicity whether bad or good...
Greenrail 09-10-2008, 01:12 PM Heck, I may not be exactly a huge Fergie fan, but some of her music shows some pretty darn good vocal ability. (Post Black eyed Peas!)
But, we all have different tastes.
TrickStang37 09-10-2008, 04:01 PM Even though I don't like Fergie and think she fails horribly... Publicity is publicity whether bad or good...
how does she "fail horribly" exactly? her music sells, she's popular right now. what better suggestion do you have?
hurry, im waiting to

one of the only people here that actually gets it.
Fbodfather 09-10-2008, 10:51 PM ooooooooooooooohhh....
...didn't know she was gonna STAND on it.........
(...I think Uncle Fbodfather needs a cocktail................)

I've never listened to any of her music, but she did show some good vocals in that video. I was fairly impressed with how she sounded.
Tantalizer43 09-11-2008, 01:22 PM I thought it was good execution. Good exposure but wasnt a giant GM commercial. Anyone who see's that car will know it's a Camaro. If they don't, it will strike enough curiosity that they will know. Very soon. Ecspecially if they are my neighbors....
Greenrail 09-11-2008, 01:50 PM one of the only people here that actually gets it.
I may be old....But even I know that any kind of positive exposure the General can get that relates to the younger generation is good. I for one would love to see this mushroom into a mad dash to a real performance car in its classic glory.
And before, I get flamed by the Rice Rocket Crowd... Kudos to you for keeping the heritage alive in terms of performance and willingness to push the limits. (Somehow, I don't think that message will reach very far because those guys and gals, don't watch this board much.- But what the heck... Car Enthusiasts are somewhat of a kindred spirit.)

Then walk down the windshield, onto the hood and slide all the way down.
The dude doing a backflip off the front left fender gave me a fright.
And to think we were so careful with that car in Milford.....

at that point, it's just a stage prop.
i'm sure it served in GM's interest ALOT more than Fergies, in terms of the show.
Fbodfather 09-11-2008, 04:38 PM well kids - good news -- we were able to remove all the dents and scratches from the Silver SS --
(....but the cocktail did take the 'edge' off.....)
(.......I wonder if that SS will turn into 'Christine?'........)
(I'd be worried if I was the 'backflip' dude....)
FUTURE TOP DOG OWNER 09-11-2008, 06:32 PM I like how the suspension didn't budge when the guy did the back flip!

You mean that seriously wasn't approved before it happened???!!! Someone needs to get whacked with an oar...even if it was approved.
HTWLSS 09-11-2008, 08:14 PM well kids - good news -- we were able to remove all the dents and scratches from the Silver SS --
Note for future contracts.....the celebrity or performer that damages the car, gets to pay for it.
