First off here are the specs of the engine.
Specs...
Chevy 4 bolt main, bored .40 over, 1 piece rear main
Dome 9:1 hyperuetectic pistons
Cast rods
Cast 3.48 stroke crank
Aluminum strike force heads 200cc intake 64cc exaust with 2.20 intake, 1.60 exahaust valves,
Camshaft 244/244 duration at .50 with .510/.510 lift LSA 108
I have an edelbrock 1404 on it right now and accel vaccum advance distributor. The problem is that I have crappy throttle response due to the low vacuum not advancing the timing until 1500 rpm. Also I didn't have enough vacuum to run a power booster so I had to get a vacuum pump from Comp Cams. A local engine builder said that I have a vacuum leak somewhere else because this motor only pulls about 5in of vacuum. So here is my question I bought a vacuum distributor lock to get rid of the vacuum advance and hopefully fix my problem. Do you think this should work. My engine builder said set the timing at 5 degrees with total timing of 34 degrees? What do you think?
Also I know I have a big cam and low compression. But I am going to go with throttle body injection from holley and then supercharge it with a paxton sn92 supercharger with about 5-6lbs of boost, msd btm, etc.. Is this all plausible. Alot of people tell me that it is not with my engine setup, but I've seen it done before. Any insight would be helpful people. Thanks.
