Replacing my rear speakers on my Camaro. This has a cloth covered panel in the large plastic rear side panel. Can I remove this covered section somehow or do I have to remove the whole panel to get to the speakers. Any hints either way would be very helpful. Thanks.

Take the screw out thats holding the hanger in place and then pull the cover off, very simple.

Well, don't yank it off. You have to push up a bit to release the hooks on the bottom portion of the cover. It's easy. I replaced my rear speakers the other day and only took a few minutes.

You remove the hanger screw then slide the cover up. There are about five hooks that keep it in place. That is all there is to it. My car had 6x9's back there which I replaced with infinity 2 way 6x9's. Sounds alot better. When I replaced them though I powered up my system and it sounded like crap. The reason was that I was moving so much air that the vents in the door jams that have rubber flaps to vent the body were flapping with the movement of the speaker. I still have not come up with a solution for that besides removing the vents. It sounds good now, however I probably have rain getting into the body work. I guess the best idea would be to alter the already existing enclosure so that it ports back into the car not allowing air to move into the body. That way you could keep the vents and get a likeness to a ported box at both speakers. I just thought of that, I think I'm going to go do that right now!

Just make sure you let the wires fall into the body panel of the car can be a pita to get out.
Got it. Pretty simple with a little help from you guys. Thanks!
