JasonD 08-17-2008, 01:00 PM I thought this was very funny, haven't seen it posted yet.

Don't click the link if you cannot have a sense of humor about it. Laugh at the pictures, but definitely read the text, they have some good things to say about the Camaro.
mdacton 08-17-2008, 01:02 PM the new 2010 Chevy Camaro will replace the old one as the favorite car for small time drug dealers, wife beaters, and robbers of convenience stores will remain to be seen
I will do my very best to put truth to that.......
should not be a problem
They did really good with the renderings. Now, who's going to be the first to add the gas sticker in the interior?!

rcowan99 08-17-2008, 03:28 PM "doo doo da doo da doo doo da doo doo....
This just in...
Cheerleaders and punks nationwide hold their breath to see if Vanilla Ice will endorse the new Mustang design once again"
3rdGenNut 08-17-2008, 03:52 PM I almost laughed my self to death on the opening.
Metallica RULES!!
Someone, pleeese photoshop that mustang to pink!
CLEAN 08-17-2008, 03:54 PM This one's my favorite

Pruettfan 08-17-2008, 04:27 PM I only beat my wife once a week and I am a big time drug dealer so I really take offense:-)
shock6906 08-17-2008, 05:00 PM That pictures was on LS1tech a week or two ago. I wonder which came first...
falchulk 08-17-2008, 05:18 PM saw those pics on mustang sites at least since the end of june.
91BigRedz28 08-17-2008, 05:30 PM That's some pretty weak Photoshop work. But it's good enough for a joke. The article's more compliment than insult- you can't argue with the numbers. Whatever makes them feel better, I guess!
bossco 08-17-2008, 06:14 PM Lol, the interior shot is pretty good, wish I had kept that F5 pic with the primer fender and IROC wheel from a few years ago it was better than this one.
Not like Chevy guys haven't ribbed Mustangs. IIRC Super Chevy ran a two page slam on Mustangers a few years back, funny stuff there too.
SSbaby 08-17-2008, 06:55 PM I love a good sense of humor. They even poked fun at the antiquated suspension used in the Mustang for over 100 years... so it was not all one dimensional. :D
ZZMike 08-17-2008, 07:59 PM LMAO at the "White Trash" WT badging...
HuJass 08-17-2008, 08:48 PM I liked the tape on the driver seat.
I thought the whole thing was pretty funny.
Rob V 08-17-2008, 08:59 PM Where can I buy an "@$$, Gas or Grass" bumper sticker...?
91Z28350 08-17-2008, 11:31 PM LOL, I saw that over at 5th gen last week, but it still makes me laugh!
I have an idea for Chevrolet, the offical "Joe Dirt Commemorative Camaro"!(including free mullet wig!!)

Shoot, as long as it has the 6.2 and manual, I'd roll in this bitch
Where's all the dents and primer spots?
(Unfortunately, that's the v-6 nose :( )
rcowan99 08-18-2008, 08:26 AM Volkswagen already did that paint scheme. :D

:metal:
Though, they screwed up on the last A... Must be the same guy that put the Iron Maiden poster in the interior.
The Volks is a special performance model, are so I'm told. Still looks gay.
99SilverSS 08-18-2008, 12:09 PM Very funny and well written. :D
dacook 08-18-2008, 02:08 PM Yeah it is funny, especially the last sentence.
But they did say one thing I agree with:
Large dual gauge pods sit before the driver while secondary gauges sit low on the center console. It is a great layout for the retro tradition but honestly sucks for ergonomics. It is a gaffe, but most Camaro buyers aren’t gonna care.
I for one care.
The interior is a major weakness, IMO. I love the outside but am giong to have to get used to that non-ergonomic train-wreck of an interior.
jg95z28 08-18-2008, 03:32 PM I wish they'd at least gotten the facts on the serious parts correct.
graham 08-18-2008, 03:37 PM lol
I actually enjoyed that. Weird, but I did.
The article is almost half humor but half penis envy as well.
Gripenfelter 08-19-2008, 12:55 PM I only started beating my wife after I got the Camaro. I told her it was expected of me and I had a rep to uphold.
jrp4uc 08-19-2008, 01:50 PM Pretty funny. I can laugh along with it. What's also funny is that Mustang owners would think they are any better. It's largely the same audience for both cars.
JakeRobb 08-19-2008, 01:58 PM Pretty funny stuff. :)
Silver2009 08-19-2008, 10:12 PM That's pretty funny. 5.0 Mustangs were the original "MulletMobiles". I put the whoopass on many a pony tailed gold chain wearing Mudstain driver sporting a primered hood. :burnout:
Yeah, they know who they are!
SSbaby 08-19-2008, 11:41 PM Yeah it is funny, especially the last sentence.

I was thinking the same thing when I first saw the concept... I thought the interior was the weakest part of the whole package.
But now I'm starting to think, that could ultimately be the thing that draws me to this car... because it's timeless.
It's different to that of modern day cars, which tend to age extremely quickly... probably because today's cars lack a lot of heart and soul.
dacook 08-20-2008, 09:51 AM Mmmmm...maybe.
But I've never heard anyone wax nostalgic over the 1st gen's interior. And when you see those cars go for megabucks at the big auctions, the focus is always on the exterior. When was the last time you saw a car calendar featuring an old interior? Never, I bet.
When a cherry 1st gen. drives by or you see it in a car show do you drool over the interior? If so you're in the minority and maybe a little weird.
The appeal of the 1st gens was alway their exterior looks, never the interior. I think it's a mistake to go back to that. I like my gauges all in one display, the more modern the better. An ultra modern inside, including Nav and HUD, mated with that beautiful retro homage exterior would be the perfect match of new and classic.
I'm hoping by the third year or so GM will realize this and modernize the interior, esp. the gauges.
Z28Wilson 08-20-2008, 11:37 AM But now I'm starting to think, that could ultimately be the thing that draws me to this car... because it's timeless.
Strange, because I have the exact opposite view. I think this interior is going to get old, REAL fast. I'd like to see what direction Ford takes the Mustang refresh in.
I do think the ambient LED lighting is a neat touch though.

Ya know what else, I think... call me stoopid but I really woudn't care if the interior had one speed dial and basic heater. I love the exterior too much to let the interior override my lasting impressions. :D

If so you're in the minority and maybe a little weird.I guess I am a little weird. I loved the interior in my '68. (I really dislike the interior for '69) Interiors may not get the press when compared to the sheet metal or engine, but they are still an important part of what make a car a classic.
I don't see why the 5th gens interior is any less ergonomic than any other car (barring the center console gauges, but thats another debate) Everything is in the same place as it is in any other car. Just because its housed in a 'retro' space doesn't make it work any differently. The interior looks comfortable and well porportioned to me. (and it is according to those who have sat in the real thing)

Still retro and crappy/boring. There were spy pics a little while back.
