FS: 1-owner, 1SC (stripped) '02 SOM A4 Z28 w/62,627 miles & most external bolt-ons

I factory-ordered my 2002 Sunset Orange Metallic Z28 with the base (stripped-down) 1SC package, optional 3.23 gears, the Goodyear Eagle GSC's, and the rear window defogger from Bennett Chevrolet in August 2001 and picked it up from the dealership on September 11, 2001, with only 21 miles on the odometer. As a college student, I went through blood, sweat, and tears working at two casino dealing jobs in the weekends and holidays just to finally pay it off in four years. After several miles, modifications, and dragstrip runs, I'm finally ready to sell it--to use the proceeds from the sale to invest in stocks while they're still dirt cheap.

The following is a brief timeline highlighting the car's modifications and performance.

-----------------------------
September 2001: RK Sport urethane rear inserts, the SLP bowtie grille, and 5% rear window tints are installed.

November 2004: TT Performance installs a B&M automatic transmission cooler & a G2 10-bolt rear-end cover. Total parts cost is $190. Total labor is $170.

December 2004: TT Performance installs NGK TR-55 spark plugs. Total parts cost is $20. Total labor is $100.

August 2005: TT Performance installs Spohn chrome-moly subframe connectors. Total parts cost is $225. Total labor is $150.

December 2005: TT Performance installs factory 1LE panhard rod, 1LE lower control arms, and a Spohn driveshaft safety loop. Total parts cost is $248. Total labor cost is $241.

March 2006: The final car payment is made and the title is received from Citizen's Bank.

June 2006: TT Performance installs a full dual a-pillar pod (for hardtops) with the Sport Comp II trans temp and water temp guages. TT Performance, at this time, could not install the transmission temperature guage to make the trans temp guage work. Total parts cost is $326. Total labor cost is $225.

August 2006: TT Performance installs a Strano 35 MM hollow front sway bar and a Strano 22 MM rear hollow sway bar; and Bilstein HDs to work with the factory springs. They also try to fix a rear-end leak. Total cost of sway bars was $395. (TTP never provided me with an invoice for the price of the Bilstein HD's and the cost of the labor. A few days after the rear end leak was fixed, I realized that TTP didn't really fix the leak, but made it worse. A severe leak had formed and a rear-end howl becomes noticeable. I never complained to TTP as I was never sure if it was their fault. I decide to change shops.)

November 2006: Harris Speedworks fixes the rear-end leak; installs Koni single-adjustable shocks (to replace the Bilstein HD's), Strano springs, SLP lid with Fram air filter, Super Sucker Ram Air underhood cold-air induction scoop, Thunder Racing ported throttle body, Spohn weld-on relocation brackets, and a Spohn chrome-moly double adjustable panhard rod (to replace the 1LE panhard bar). They also perform dyno-runs to determine the effect of the induction modifications. (The rear-end howl is still there.) Total parts cost is $1,359. Total labor cost is $1,375.

November 2006: Harris Speedworks installs a Powerbond underdrive pulley with belts. Total parts cost is $232. Total labor cost is $300 (including dyno-tune).

November 2007: Harris Speedworks installs a used 10-bolt rear-end with an Auburn rear-differential (from a Camaro SS) and a rear-end girdle, Spohn (or UMI?) weld-on relocation brackets, Jet-Hot coated 1 3/4" Kooks stainless steel headers & Jet-Hot coated Kooks catted y-pipe with high-flow catalytic converters, SLP dual-dual catback, AMW catch can, and Denso iridium spark plugs. The car is dyno-tuned for the last time. It put down 338.7 HP & 352.8 TQ corrected on Harris Speedworks' Dynocom dynamometer. No codes or knock retard is present. Total parts cost is $3,140. Total labor cost is $1,405.

November 2007: The car is brought to TT Performance for one last time so that TT Performance can finally install a transmission temperature guage adapter that they couldn't install back in June 2006. The trans temp guage finally works. They also install genuine Corsa premium tips. Total parts cost is $335 (for tips only). Total labor cost is $161.

November 2007: The tip installation by TTP is unsatisfactory as the tips are crooked. (I did not bring this to TTP's attention.) The car is brought to Kasper's Korner where the tips are raised and aligned. Total labor cost is $52.

November 2007: Clear side marker lenses and diamond clear corner lenses are ordered from Afterthoughts Auto for $108 and installed.

November 2007: With a 2.03 60 foot time, the car runs a best of 12.707@111.74 on Atco Raceway.

Total approximate cost of major mechanical parts supported by invoices: $6,578.

Total approximate cost of labor supported by invoices: $4,179.

Total approximate cost of parts and labor supported by invoices: $10,757.
-----------------------------

Noteworthy Facts:

To reiterate, this is a 2002 Camaro Z28 with the sunset orange metallic paint, ebony cloth interior, the base 1SC package (roll-down windows, no power locks, no steering wheel radio controls, manual adjustment **** for the leftview mirror only), rear-window defogger, and the A4 with the optional 3.23 gear ratio. The sunset orange metallic paint is a rare color as (fact from CamaroZ28.com) only 1,875 of the 42,098 camaros built for the 2002 model year had this color. Also, only 1,380 of the 29,009 camaros built for the 2001 model year had this color. Therefore, a total of only 3,255 camaros were built with the SOM paint job. Also note that the stripped-down, 1SC package is another rarity as most camaros were built with the 1SD package.

This car was bought brand new on 9/11/01. I am the only owner. I have the title. I don't smoke. The car has exactly 62,627 miles. It has been garage-kept during the last 14 months. Before the brand-new purchase of my 2006 GTO, this car had been daily driven through all road conditions. The car has not been in any accident. The car has been through 35 dragstrip passes. The horns, side marker bulbs, and clear corner bulbs were replaced in the last 10 months. The last oil change was performed in November 2007. (The car has been driven less than 1,000 miles since then.) Most oil changes were performed using Mobil 1 full-synthetic and either a Mobil 1 oil filter or K&N Gold oil filter. The tires currently mounted on the stock, 16" 10-spokes are 245/50/VR16 all-season Continental ContiExtremes. To the best of my memory, one tire (maybe the rear passenger's) tends to lose air more quickly than the others. Tire inflation should be checked before the car is driven.

Two repairs had been done under warranty. The first repair involved replacing a bad transmission solenoid. The second repair involved replacing a non-operating rear-window defogger button.

Small areas of concern are:

Please note that all of these problems are very minor. You will agree once you see the car in person. You will see that I have priced the car accordingly. You are also welcome for a test drive with me as the passenger.

With all of that said, the selling price of the car is $13,000 USD. The car is located 10 miles west of Atlantic City, NJ. I will also include a brand-new SLP license plate mounting bracket (made specifically for the SLP bowtie grille), an Autotap OBD-II scanning software, an un-installed Spohn driveshaft safety loop, brand-new and unused Tire Rack tire totes, and the SLP dual-dual exhaust tips free of charge. I can also throw in a Wolf Evolution car cover with a storage bag and lock free charge. However, the car cover is worn and has a tear around the front bumper area. You can visit the link in my signature below for more pics. (Please note that my camaro website has not been updated for quite some time, but you will find more specific information there for at least my first two years of ownership.) Please PM me for any questions. Thank you.

Hate to burst you bubble but kbb trade in value is a lot less that your asking price, like $7500. Mods and track time actually subtract from the value, sad but true.

You might have some luck selling on ebay. Open the auction to the foreign market. Some corvette guys sold high dollar items over seas. I sold my 95 formula vert to a guy in London. I didn't get what I wanted buy he paid more than anyone stateside. Its a very nice car. If able you should try to work things out to keep the car.
