As I have been trying to use the GM 85mm MAF
on my procharged 94lt1 in a blow thru application
it seems futile. As finding out the resolution is low.
The LPE MAF looks to be just what I am looking for
anyone have any knowledge of it?
Thanks

A local guy named Brad (i can't remember his name on LS1tech) with a 2000 Z28 tried it on his TT LS1. It did not accomplish what he had hoped. He stiill maxed out the MAF tables (PCM limitation) as it sttill reads about the same frequencies at a given flow ratet. It does however give the advantage of less pressure drop across the MAF due to the larger cross-sectional area.

Thanks for the info. I am running 7-8psi on the stock
motor I am looking mostly for elimating surge and hesation
moving it near the TB has got to be better than under the
car. It seems that the price for a calibrated MAF is 299
who ever makes it.
Thanks,Nace

Save your money and move your MAF to the pressure side.

You may be experiencing air turbulence prior to entering the MAF sensor. After relocating the MAF sensor to the pressure side (just east of the elbow), my surge and hesitation disappeared.

If you have Autotap (or other diagnostic), take a look at your Sterms. If they are flopping all over during idle, then you are seeing turbulence. If you don't relocate the MAF sensor, then make sure there is at least 4-6 inches clearance from any recirculation hoses or other air-turbulence inducing air streams (before and after the MAF sensor).

Hi, thats what I am doing with the maf. Except my stock maf was about shot, so I bought a adapter harness and a new 85mm ls1 part. The ductwork is 4" id from intercoolers and the other meter fit good. I was unaware the ls1 freq tables are different. I was told by LPE that there maf will be tuned for my car and I will get the flow numbers to upload the tables in my ecm I am using tuner cat, so there program sheet will give me a good table to work with. I never thought this maf system was this tough
to work with. I have a 65 chevelle with 555cu/8-71 with FAST efi w/inj hat and I now appreciate its tunability!
Thanks for the input/advice from you guys, I enjoy my
camaro supercharged cars as we know are a blast......
