Will big dealers offer LS7?

I was dissappointed to see the factory offerings void of the LS7. I know I can get the same power or better with the factory engines and add ons, but I thought the SS should have gotted the BIG engine. Anyone heard if Berger, Tom Henry or GMMG are planning this swap? A 427 Camaro is just plain cool and the way it should be.

i was at berger the other day and they were going to do a special car but couldnt tell specs other than about 30 cars being done

oh,. and like Viper Motor swaps, cheap as hell if the Camaro is wrecked.

I have no doubt there will be big engine Camaros from the aftermarket/dealers. Ls7 specifically, who knows? But expect to pay top dollar for them. The LS7 engine alone is like $17000.

The LS7 crate engine can be purchased for $12995.00...plus there are some in the salvage yards now too....for much less...I am sure the GMMG and some other shops will be building some since their 427 wide body 4th gen cars are all gone now..:D

If you're going to speed that much, why not just go for the LSA?

your right. a "big honkin v8" was promised, but then the LS3 was just put in there in it's place i guess.

Emission regulations might make that tough.

maybe they are holding off till they make a Z28 model? the 17,000 is retail for that motor....not to make it i can see them coming out with a Z variant sometime around 2011 or 2012

ls7=14,254.25 not including wiring harness or computer. Could the ls3 computer control the ls7? If not..I would say well over 15,000 for that swap.:cry:

yes.. ls3 pcm can control ls7 and a simple calibration change iwll do it

I'd consider power brakes and power steering necessities. I was disappointed to find out the base v6 car will have power windows and locks no matter what. My 95 does not have either and I am happy as a clam. Don't have to worry about window motors or seized lock solenoids.

Amen to that! Crank windows and manual locks here. I love GM, but on the 4th Gens, the less to break the better, hehe.

I certainly would not consider power windows and power door locks "bare bones". But hey, to each his own.

If anything, I'll just hotcam the LS3 and call it a day. 480hp right there.

If I was going to replace the ls3 with an ls7, I'd think I'd have to go with this.
