I have a few questions for you. This application applies to my GTO but it would be the same for my F-body as well. I replaced my stock rotors and pads yesterday with Hawk performance ceramic pads and DBA 4000 series slotted rotors. The install went normally and is as easy as changing out the pads and rotors on an f-body. However, there is a clicking noise now when the brake pedal is applied at speeds above 40 mph or so. It sort of sounds like a card in a bicycle wheel when you were a kid. I have done some research and most people say that it is simply the nature of slotted rotors and that the pad makes noise when going over the slots. I am hoping this problem will go away with pad break-in. The sound slows down with the rotor and it certainly seems like it must have something to do with the pad and the slots. I just thought I would have heard more complaints from people with this pad/rotor combination. Any opinions or thoughts on how to correct this problem or do I just have to live with it? Thanks.

I installed '03 Mustang Cobra 13 inch brakes on my '63 Avanti with a set of
brackets I designed, with drilled/slotted rotors, and havent heard any of the
noise you are describing.

I guess that could be a cause. I have had just slotted with the same pads for 2 years now and occasionally hear something similar while in reverse but thats it.

Seems like some people get the noise and others don't. This means it could be do to a very slight mishap in the manufacturing process. I am thinking about getting the rotors turned to get rid of any imperfections or "lips" on any of the slots.

I've noticed a slight "clicky" sound with my dimpled rotors.

Mine is more than slight. I mean, it is annoying but anything that isn't really perfect with cars annoys me :mad:. I can't hear it with the windows rolled up or if I am on a really open road but if you are drive close to a wall or have terrain close by, the sound echoes right back and it becomes apparent how loud it is.
