Zepher or anyone who put 4th gen door panels in their 3rd gen come in.

Did the corner panel hit the front padding? if so by how much? What was needed for complete fitment?

It hit a lot, so I had to do a lot of cutting. In the end I decided to scrap the project since I don't have the skills to make it look good.

So the only remedy without cutting would be to install a 4th gen dash layout?

Pretty much.
A friend of mine is going to try and do it with the 3rd gen dash.
I'll post pcs of it when he attempts it.
