What do you guys use for a battery tie down on your LT1's? On my stock mount/battery base the front lip that pinches the battery down broke off. What can I use so I don't have to replace the whole base and take off the A/C overflow line? I can't race unless I fix or get a new tie down, until then I'll be using a ratcheting strap tie down. Any help would be great. Thanks:D

I bought a new overflow tank, it wasn't that expensive and it was easy to replace. But it would also be easy to fab up a brace that screws to the radiator support in front and the rear clamp mount in back.

I used a "universal" bracket (the "I" shaped across the center of the battery type) from the local auto-parts. No need to replace the factory piece ... the lip on a new one is only going to break off again.

Yup... I put a tiny Braille battery in my Formula, and bent up a 1/8" aluminum strap to bolt down to the stock battery clip bolt and the radiator support.

Cool guys, I'll either fab up a new front lip or a strap to go over the whole battery with some scrap I got around, or buy a universal one for like $4.

^ That's pretty much what I had in mind. Should work perfectly.

That part looks exactly like the one I formed out of the 1/8" thick aluminum strap, except mine is polished.
