after doing a search i see that i can buy a clutch assembly from the local parts store for about $200 & order a high performance disc (i'm looking at the mcleod single) from thunderracing or etc. i'll have 480rwhp, would my stock flywheel be ok?

thx

Do you have a stock bottom end, or an internally balanced rotating assembly? If your bottom end is stock, then the stock flywheel should be fine. A steel flywheel is stronger and slightly lighter, and an aluminum one is a lot lighter, so it will help the engine spin up faster. The only problem with aftermarket flywheels is most of them are neutrally balanced, meaning for an internally balanced engine.
