More specificly, how will the active fuel management effect internal engine modifications? Can you still put a cam in it ect??

The L99 may have solid valves vs. the hollow valves of the LS3. you may have to change the valves or put in some REALLY heavy springs (expect to change them periodically) if your planning a cam.

Either way, the way manufacturers have been cracking down on custom tunes, be prepared to lose warranty on the transmission and engine. apparently they (GM) can tell if it's had a tune, regardless if you put the stock tune back in. they can even tell if the ECM has been swapped. check the corvette boards.

A taller cam will almost certainly require a no-AFM tune like it does in the G8's L76.
