optional spoilers

It has come to my attention(regretfully)that after reviewing the recently released options & trim packages for the new Camaro,it looks as though a rear spoiler option will not be avaliable on the V6 LS or LT models.Having to upgrade to the RS package($2,000-$3,000 more) will get you a rear spoiler:rolleyes:and no word of a front spoiler at all.I for one am very dissapointed that GM could not "allow"the option of a spoiler option for the LS & LT models.IMHO a spoiler is one of those options that makes any car more Sporty? It's a personal taste kinda thing.Did GM consult with Dodge on it's option packages? The SE Challenger also does not offer a rear spoiler, but it comes standard with a front spoiler...and if you want a rear spoiler, you can upgrade to the R/T package for $8,000 more...What?:think:I sometimes wonder if these auto manufacturers do this on purpose,to push the consumer to spend the "extra $$$"to make their car look appealing to the owners contentmant, and then be stuck with a bunch of options they don't want, because they know most people would want this option.I hope GM changes the option packages before production next year.

I am sure will be able to buy the spoiler by itself for a lot less then the entire RS package. Or, I am sure you will have your choice of a plethora of spoilers from the aftermarket. From what I understand, they are "standing 10 deep" right now waiting to get to work on the car and offering parts for it.

from what i read about the new challenger the front spoiler is mandatory to keeping
front end lift to a minimum .

It'll be interesting to see what they offer for spoilers. You can bet dollars to donuts that they will have them in time.

It is frustrating that a spoiler wouldn't be an "official" option for even the most base model Camaro. The reason for me saying "official" is that you will still be able to get it. I bought a Value Leader G6 in December that offers no official factory installed options. The dealer arranged for a spoiler to be added to the vehicle by a local shop before I took delivery. It cost more than the factory spoiler option would have on a higher model, but it was a lot cheaper than moving up to the next model level that didn't really offer much else that I cared for.
