First time to the track, 5 passes....

Well I went to the track yesterday, it was my first time being to a track let alone racing.

This is the exact order I ran them.

I thought I ended the day pretty good, for it being the first time at the track.

The most impressive thing I thought was 2.1 60ft off of 235/35/19 street tires that where pretty bald. All of these where launching at about 1000 rpms. Except the first 2.

What do you guys think?

pretty good for a first time out. You should be a little faster though, but, your doing good. You'll get there, just practice practice practice.

One of the BEST things you can do for these cars is drag radials and LCA relocation brackets.

Yeah I am pretty worried about my rear end. Sticky tires will prolly be one of the last mods even tho it should be on of the first lol, but I am working on getting a 9".

how wide are those 19s?
You could probably get some wider tires for the rear and be alright too

I believe they are 8.5". yeah I will be getting some new tires next spring, the previous owner couldn't get any wider tires with the rims, it was a rim tire package. But yes the tires are really narrow. I believe I can fit up to 285's on the rims.

Well there's part of the problem, shoulda went to Stanton ;)

As stated above, more tire and more practice and your times will come along. I am concerned with your MPH though. You seem to be down about 3mph from where you should be for your mods. Have you done a tune up?

Well, I heard Milan's track prep is pretty ****ty. Im haven't heard of this Stanton, im located in Chelsea so Milan is about 40 min from me.

The previous owner did a tune up about 1 year ago I believe. But I dont have a tune if thats what your referring to. Tires will be one of the next mods cause the fronts are starting to dry rot pretty bad.

Midmichmotorplex it'sjust north of Stanton,MI. Look it up on mapquest. It's always been a good place to run.

Wow, lol thats a decent drive for me, its about 45 min to Lansing, then what ever it is from there.

Good job chipping away at that ET. Milan gets a bad rap from people on street tires that have big power. Blame the track...:) Millen and Pappas went 6.70's on 10" tires...can't be that bad if they're having their personal bests.

Stanton always seems to be worth the drive. No crowd, good track, free food and lodging at Al's to any board member. How can ya beat that?:)

I was going to go 1 more run since I got .3 off on my last run, and it would of been that much cooler it was about 7pm so the temp was starting to drop. I wish I would of made 1 more pass lol! I thought it was pretty cool that I managed to drop my ET and my 60ft each time, I must of been doing something right lol.
