Petition GM for a lighter blue on the 5th gen! [Archive]

time to vote and hopefully they will see what we want, i was planning on having a lighter blue on mine as was alot of others, i think im forced to wait now to get the color i want which IMO should be an option on a color palette for any car, a lighter blue! i think its safe to say if we are stuck with 10 color options only, drop the aqua or something for a bright metallic blue. nassau blue or jetstream blue, or something along the lines of a lighter then dark navy blue. please GM, reconsider! alot of people really would like to see a color like this, look at the 69 with blue and white racing stripes, probably the best looking combo possible for that year, i dont think it should be left out, even if its an added cost color option thats fine:cry::p

poll is up! vote what you would like to see. any range of a lighter blue, doesn't have to be specific to the colors posted. just something in between the dead navy blue and the aqua that looks like reef blue on 93 mustangs.

I couldnt agree more. Please add a bright blue to the line up. Lemans, Nassau, Jetstream!!! I have the 69 Camaro in Lemans blue with white ss stripes. I love that color and that combo. Please find a way to give us jetstream or something close! Look below, even the smiley looks good in bright blue and white!

Edit: slow on posting, comment meant for mustang pic.yes, its reef blue. its a limited aqua color that came on 93 mustangs. its a green/blue. im guessing from the google of the color name GM posted up for the aqua blue, it will look similar to that, dont think it fits the car nearly as well as a metallic bright blue.

If they're going to do a lighter blue, then it should be LeMans Blue Metallic.

But if they aren't going to use a true Hugger Orange or British Green Metallic, who cares? Heck, you guys already got two shades of blue. :p

Jetstream for the win. That color looks amazing, and I don't know if I'll buy an SS without a light blue. I may opt for the orange because that's a great color, but I'm not sure I'd want the orange LED lighting on the interior to go with the exterior color...

The colors that GM is offering are nice, but many of us were hoping for a bright blue such as Lemans, Nassau, or jetstream blue. We were very disappointed to only find 2 dark blues. Please let GM know if you want a bright blue like the rest of us. Even offer it as a special extra charge color like they do with Jetstream Blue on the vette. A poll is posted under another thread under 2010 Camaro general info, exterior, Petition GM for a lighter Blue. Please visit the thread and voice your opinion. Scott, you've done an incredible job on this car, but if you could pull any strings and get us a bright blue, the car might just be perfect!!!:yes:

how could anyone think that would look good on a 2010 camaro? the color looks confused IMO. its like chameleon but missing 2 tones lol. so far they got 2 colorado colors on the car, i think they should dip into some other cars for better colors. this thread is pretty much hidden from the mainstream traffic yet look at the votes. ill hold out then to buy mine in hopes some colors change, kind of like the 93-94 camaros, lost that purple and gained that nicer light blue. i feel a repeat mistake happening here.

Absolutely need another blue color option on the new Camaro.I seen this blue on the 2008 Corvette Z06,I'm sure it is the same color,and it is "Sweet"I have my heart set on the "inferno orange"for my Camaro.I would like to see GM offer a copper/goldish color:)

Is there any way to get this post moved to the more seen "2010 camaro news, sightings pictures..." area of the website. As stated above this post isn't in a very visable spot but even with the poor location it has had almost 400 views! Scott, Cheryl, John PLEASE pull some strings with the blues! The car is an 11 on a 1-10 scale, but the color choices are a 4. The color choice might honestly cause me to put off purchase for the 1st year in the hopes of improved colors in the 2nd production year. I'll pay a premium for Jetstream blue like on the vettes, just give me the opportunity! Aqua Blue Metallic is awful. It dosent belowng on an Aveo let alone the Camaro! You are reading first hand preproduction reactions to this color. None of them are good. You have an opportunity to correct a sales flop of Aqua Blue Metallic cars before it even happens! I guarantee you would sell at least twice as many Jetstream cars as you would Aqua Blue Metallic. Please work your magic and make it happen.

I agree. I won't buy one in any of the offered colors. They look too dull other than that great red tint coat. Give us Jet Stream Blue tint coat for an extra cost!

Now that is a Sexy Camaro! Night and day difference. Scott please look at this, you have to admit that the Jetstream looks 100 times better that Aqua Blue. Thanks for the post! Keep your fingers crossed, we might just pull this off if everyone keeps chipping in!

Jetstream Blue and Ultra Marine Blue/Mystichrome 03-04 Cobra color should def. be options for the 5th Gen color Palette. Jetstream looks great on the Corvette, just imagine the new Camaro with this color.

Maybe in that pic, but I personally believe the aqua color is fairly disgusting.

Here's a '69 Lemans Blue used on a Berger SS. That's the color I'm wanting, and that doesn't look much like aqua.

That looks incredible. It looks nothing like Aqua Blue Metallic. Just so everyone knows, Aqua Blue Metallic dosen't look bad in that pic, but the pic of the colorado looks nothing like the real life. It is soo ugly in person that "if it was a baby, you would have to tie a bone around its neck to get the dog to play with it!" Lemans Blue is my first choice, jetstream is a close 2nd. It looks like this post is gaining steam!!!

CTK1-- You'll like this stuff. I photoshopped several pictures a long time ago in a color of blue I mixed myself. It's based on '99 Corvette Nassau Blue with a slight amount of green added to it. Pretty similar to '69 Lemans Blue.

I made this in 2007. It's a slow animation of changes to the Camaro convertible concept. It starts out normal, rear bumper fills a gap, spoiler gets longer, and then changes to the color similar to '69 Lemans Blue.

Sign me up for Brangeta Blue! Honestly, very VERY nice work! I like the convertible picture where the changes keep taking place. I had to watch it a couple of times, they are very subtle but do make a difference, kind of Chip Fooselike! The 2nd pic of the blue convertible has me considering black stripes now if we manage to get GM to give us a nice blue. I also really like the taller spoiler. Hopin for something like that from the aftermarket. If we get our good looking blue I think they should call it Camaroz28.com Blue since we're causing so much attention for it. Come on everybody, get everyone you know to VOTE!!! We already have over 76% in favor of a bright blue, I think we should be able to get 85%!!! If GM dosen't pay attention to 85% of potential Blue Camaro Buyers, I give up!

Glad you like it. :) On the animation, I did it as an SWF file so you can right click and zoom in. It makes it easier to notice the changes to the rear. I forgot to mention that, because I forgot that's why I did it that way. :lol:

I dunno about calling it camaroz28.com blue... that seems kind of weird. I don't exactly have a copyright on the color I mixed, so Chevy could call it whatever they like if they wanted to try to mix it.

They really need a lighter bluish teal color similar to what I mixed. Whatever they may come up with, should look nothing like Chevy Aveo teal in ANY light. I hate that color.

haha, ok so I admit I got a little caught up in the moment and carried away with the name thing. I'm just pumped for my new Camaro. It will be my first new car and I just want it to be everything I've always wanted. I've been busting my rear saving for this thing. Its been way too long of a wait, I want my car!!! I just hope GM gives us a bright blue or I will either settle for another color, or wait until the 2nd production year and hope some decent colors are offered. Im not real thrilled with any of the colors, but I really want my Lemans or Jetstream Blue. As far as aveos, there isn't anything I like about them. Hideous little cars!!!

Agreed, we need better blues. My '97 Silverado has a great color, simply called Medium Blue Metallic Clearcoat on the window sticker. I hope they do something similar now.

Here is my truck. Not my '65, but I did have an identical '66 in this color which is the only acceptable teal/aqua in my book.

I haven't got rid of my old Silverado because I'm too attached to the color.

I'm hoping Gm takes a look at this poll. Look at the results so far, 3/4 of the people hate the lousy blues that GM chose, and want better. How much more perfect of an opportunity for GM can this be?!? They have preproduction info about how many people will not buy one of these nasty blues. If they don't do something about it after all of our efforts I might have to go Challenger shopping. Please GM, don't let that happen! :no:

Aqua blue looks pretty damn good in those pics, I love nassau blue and jetstream blue too but ,I dont think you guys should judge Aqua blue Until you see more of it. Im just glad we have a choice beyond Navy Blue.

It looks nice in the picture with the Jetstream Blue Corvette, however, you have to keep in mind that it doesn't always photograph that well. Jetstream Blue is gorgeous in ALL light, so I'll hold out for something a little more similar to that. '69 Lemans Blue would definitely be acceptable.

It dosen't look bad in that pic, but that is not an accurate pic at all. It has a terrible looking cloudy look to it. It almost looks like blue Jell-o mix, and then somebody dumped milk in it. Its awful. I encourage you to go look at it in person, you won't be happy with this color. Why won't GM just give us jetstream blue as an option. The color already exists so GM wont need to spend more money formulating a new color. PLUS, they charge a premium for the color, so they would make more money. Come on GM, you want us to be loyal to you, than you need to be loyal to us and give us what we are asking for. It isn't anything out of reason!
