Top Fuel & Funny Car to run 1000' instead of 1320AdioSS 07-06-2008, 11:49 PM http://www.nhra.com/content/news/30355.htm I think it's a good idea. canuck94z28 07-07-2008, 12:13 AM I wonder if this will be in place @the Oct.race in Las Vegas. If so it will be different for sure.At least this is better than changing from 1/4 mi.to a 1/8th. sn8ke eatr 08-08-2008, 12:21 AM i think thats kinda lame Zepher 08-08-2008, 01:05 AM I doubt 320ft makes a difference. Demon's Camaro 08-08-2008, 01:39 AM I just hope they do not have a trickle down effect. All cars have times based upon 1320ft. This would completely screw up the system we have used for a very long time. The Engineer 08-08-2008, 07:32 AM I wonder if this will be in place @the Oct.race in Las Vegas. If so it will be different for sure.At least this is better than changing from 1/4 mi.to a 1/8th. The 1000 ft for fuel cars is already in-place (last 3 PowerAde races) and will remain in-place for the remainder of the season. According to NHRA. WD slomarao 08-08-2008, 02:08 PM I think they need to change it back because of the history of drag racing has always been 1/4's. All records and titles will be different if they change it for the long haul. I understand about the safety, i think they should do something else to improve it. IrocSS85 08-26-2008, 09:55 PM i was wondering why the cars are soo fast now compared to couple years ago. havent caught it on tv in a long time until this weekend. now it makes sense. but the speeds are still up around 320mph despite the short track. damn thats moving. years ago, when 320 was seldom seen, they said the tires were maxed out at that speed. and could blow out at any point faster then that. wonder if thats still whats holding them back and making them shorten the track. better that then restricter plates like nascar. guess they talked about that for a bit to slow the cars down a bit. | ||
