I have a 1987 Chevy Camaro 305 TPI. I have some problems such as worped flywheel and oil having gas in it (i think from an injector being stuck open) and smoking problems. I am getting the flywheel, injectors, and a tune up Thursday. But anyways I was wondering what knid of mods I can do to my car that will get more hp to the rear wheels. Also this summer i am looking at putting a 350 in so i dont want to put major bucks into the engine. Any advice. Thanks for your help.

Gas in oil usually means bad sealing of the rings, as a first thought, that is. That or a cylinder is not firing properly. 350s use 22 pph injectors and 350s use 24. I'd leave it alone because you won' t be able to get the 24 pph ones to work just right and will leave even more gas in the oil

Fix whatever problems you have now and save up money for that 350. I rushed my re-build and I wish I had saved up some money for things like head work cam intake port and pollish head milling, you know all the little things that make a difference. If you want to hop up that 305 though, try a thinner head gasket (little more compression). Also, your on a roll with that tune up but think about going to the parts store and getting a new set of valve springs. I couldn't figure out why my 350 wasn't makeing awsome power and I swapped out the tired springs for a set of new ones. Man it made a difference. Also, I think it's super chevy that is building a 88 z28 305 auto to run 13's and quicker. Search around for the last couple issues. Good luck.
